wow this tune rocks, from 3.30 onwards is just crazy, great ending. nice guitar rendition, and that booom booom is truly bad ass. very good, very good, i liked this.

well i couldn't catch the meaning of some phrases (language barriers strike back once again) and i guess it's a pity because the speech seems to be a relevant part of this song. the arrangement is definitely odd and funny, that little tinklin sound is very nice (WTF is that sound? a bell? a piano? can't recognise it), great sfx from 4.47 onwards as remarked by rob.
funny and creative as every single song of yours, very refreshing :)

this is song is from my acoustic rock side project. it is the result of the cooperation between me and a good friend of mine, who is a talented guitar player. he created the acoustic guitar riffs, i created all the rest on ableton, using samples from music2000 and music3000. the combination of electronic music elements and the classic sound of an acoustic guitar is pretty experimental, yet not too weird. we have several other songs like this one here in the pipeline, so if you like this one i may post all the others as i complete them.
constructive criticism is welcome as usual; in this case i'd also like to receive suggestions about the song title, since we can't seem to find a good one.

welcome to our community mate :)
well i have to agree with tertiary, good first attempt, and if your goal is to create some dnb track i really have to suggest you to increase the bpm up to 170, at least.
otherwise this tempo is okay if you're going to create breakbeat or big beat songs (i recommend a tempo next to 135 bpm).
nice use of samples, that piano riff is pleasant. i look forward to hear more :)

yes, clean and crispy beat, very nice. nice use of premade guitar sample. nice spooky low strings, maybe they just need a light reverb. cool bassline, sounds very good at around 1.00. quite short but it's definitely a good choice, otherwise this may sound a tad repetitive.
so is this an old experiment? not bad at all, that beat is inspiring.

i already commented this song, it's easily one of your top-3 songs and probably one of my 10 fav MG songs ever. everything in here is perfect and inspiring.

rob you may also like The Orb, another british duo. check out the album U.F.Orb, it's a mix of ambient and house music inspired by sci-fi. you may like it.

the first ones in the list are great

well done casper. if you're looking for free VSTz, i have plenty of them now.
here's a request: i can't seem to find a good cello sample (also a VST emulating low pitch orchestral strings would be great). anyone?
#71
then let's do this casper! i'll let you start the topic. i'll make it sticky later (i'm pretty busy at the moment). such topic could be a great place to share samples and also VSTs.

Guess what?  :o

I GOT ABLETON LIVE 7 ! .... Assuming I can figure it all out do you think this will enhance my production levels and music overall? I'm hoping so... I don't think I'll ever desert MTV/MG1 though. !!!!!

of course it will enhance your production levels (over time). man, you really have to download some (free) sci-fi type VSTs, they're amazing, i can recommend you some.

@nan: eh, that's trippier indeed!
@billy: sorry to hear that, just remember that you're not the only one getting 1 play per song. i know this is not very encouraging, but anyway, keep in mind that we all roughly share the same destiny  ;)

EDIT: CoLD SToRAGE himself logged in this morning!

a couple of days ago i logged in and noticed that in the 'Who's Online' section of the main page there was one member logged in (me) and 40 GUESTS. what was that?? we don't even have 40 regulars here, i thought it was amazing. it seems we still have an audience. now all we need is the presence of the regulars  ;D
about me, lately i'm working on several new projects on ableton and FL, as a training. most important, i'm collecting an ungodly amount of VSTs and new samples, not to mention the lovely old MG samples that i'm recording one by one on my hard drive. hope you're all fine

I plan to 'hack' (I use the term very loosely, nothing malicious, more exploring) the files of M2K PC and extract all the audio samples so people can use them in other software. I have done this with things like Resident Evil 2 to get all the voices, weapon noises, music files etc so it can be done. Think it would be a nice touch to have all the classic samples at our disposal. Naturally we aren't selling our music or selling the samples, it'll be at a community level exclusively so I don't see why this would pose a problem in any way.

that exactly what i'm trying to do lately...well, not exactly, in fact i'm recording all the samples from the psx version one by one....which is crazy, too many samples! please tertiary, post a link to a folder which contains all the samples (.WAV format would be great) when you're ready, i'll do the same if i finish first.
on the other hand i'm collecting great samples from videogames too.. some sound effects and vocals are gorgeous

yes this version is much cleaner, i'd say it's perfect. i agree when you say the vocals of the previous version sounded too low tone. and i agree with casper, this is surely one of your best songs ever, in my list of best timgul songs. top work.

thank you for uploading this track. oh, how i love it. that harp riff at 1.21 is just wonderful. the acoustic bass with the space reverb applied on it, the drone, the bell sound in the background, it is just perfect. definitely my kind of sound, similar to my own style.
so short and so beautiful (how about a longer version?). be proud because this song is a gem. (what's the title anyway? L1ar L1ar? Ali Al Salem?)

@neil: are you high on something mate?   :D
@rob: ah, that was great. everything in the melody is splendid, smooth, majestic, classy. may i leave a suggestion? that round bass (is it round bass btw? can't remember) imo is a bit too 'rude' for such a classy melody. the melody sounds so great you could never tell it was made on the generator. on the contrary that round bass sample imo ruins a bit such a masterpiece and such an excellent production. rob imo you deserve to move forward to pro software to fully express your skills. keep that in mind.

NaN, that was fun! fitting image too!  :D

i enjoyed it a lot!
