Sadly, I kinda moved on from music since last Winter :(. The only new track I made is Quest For The Legendary Axe, which I posted in the rock/metal MTVMG section. I should probably check the forums to see if I forgot to post some of my old tracks, though. I kinda got more busy with my other forums in the past 8 months (and life) x.x

I could maybe remix/do a cover of one of my old tracks, though.

hmmmm no desire to make it in music? are you sure?
xeronox records is a small record label but has signed the likes of k90, simon patterson and smith and pledger.
i discovered this website by chance, its good to find new talent.
but if you dont want to make it in music, i shall move on to the next artist no problem.

Yes, I suggest you move on, Quade... or is it Pillage? I read the IP, and e-mail info. Honestly just joining up, but immediately commenting on Casper's music and no one else made it even easier for me. This seems to be a reoccurring process. On January 1st of this year I promised Omni and others there would be no fighting and no drama and since that time I can proudly say there has been NONE. I will make sure that continues.

Now if you are wanting to re-join that may be possible as others have done so. They are more than welcome. If you are willing to let the past be just that, the past where it belongs, then that too might be a possibility. I will leave that in your hands, but the immaturity and negativity isn't welcomed. Oh, I checked and there is no Xeronox Records(At least not according to Google!) Have a nice day.

Admin Staff,
-Rob

I do not know the IP address, but I recognize the e-mail.

That said, the reason why I do not want to get signed is because I want freedom when I make music. I do not want to be forced to stick to the charts styles when I produce. As an artistic person, I want to create exactly what I want, which charts won't let us do.

This track was going to be used in the RPG Maker game I was working on back in 2009 called Super Star Hero. The song is called Frozen Danger. It was planned for use in a snowy part of the game, but then the project was discontinued. The song style is similar to console, as well as some music from french openings of japaneese TV series from the '80s like (Sentai series), (Goldorak in France) and .

News and announcements / Re: Welcome New Members
July 12, 2010, 11:51:52 PM
Hi,

I am happy to see there are still some new members joining here. I also noticed a bunch of new MTVMG users on Youtube and on my videos, people keep asking me what program did I use lately. Sadly I am very busy with both life and another site so I did not have much time to reply, though, but it would be nice if they joined TIMGUL.

On an unrelated note, the other night I re-updated the MODs installed on the site and added a new one. When you view the topic list, there should now be a small icon besides some topics. If you click it, it lists attachments included in a topic. For longer topics, it could be useful to find attachments easier if a topic got many of them, because they are all listed in one single spot, with links forwarding to the respective posts. Example: http://www.mtv-music-generator.com/index.php?action=topicattach;topic=1177 (The Vault-Collection of unfinished tunes/samples & mixes-mp3 downloads, by 147 Crew)

I also have been thinking about trying to figure out a way to add some sort of RSS feed on Omnimaga that notifies of the latest new songs posted on TIMGUL and have one on TIMGUL that notifies of new songs posted on Omnimaga, but I am not too sure how hard it would be. It may require cron jobs to be setup on the server, something that might be against the hosting rules.

Wow I haven't posted new songs in a long while here. However, I didn't really do much music lately anyway. My last finished songs were Magic Hardcore and Eurobeatizer and it was in 2009. However, now I decided to give music making a go again and this time I went for a different style than dance/rave: power metal.

This is the first time I ever successfully do such song because it is very hard in MTVMG to get the guitar riffs to sound right. However, I think it worked out pretty well this time and as with my song Super Star Hero, I added a video game/japaneese touch to the song and a keyboard style solo like Rhapsody of Fire and Stratovarius music. The song is inspired a lot from SSH music, as well as video game music such as Final Fantasy 6/7 battle themes and the Ys series on the Turbografx 16.

The song title is "Quest For The Legendary Axe". It was made using Music 2000 (MTV Music Generator) for the Playstation 1. All riffs created myself, but used only the program samples.

You can download it at one of the two following URLs:

As you know, I am the person in charge of keeping TIMGUL hosted online (and paying for it). I have been doing so since October 2007. By 2008, TIMGUL shared the same webspace as Omnimaga website, another community I run. However, from November 2009 to January 2010, I started to face some harsh realities that made me realize that I would soon have to pass the torch to someone else, and because this hosting package is primarly used by Omnimaga now, it was inevitable that someone from Omnimaga would eventually take over. At the end of January, discussion between staff and certain #omnimaga ops occured regarding the future of Omnimaga/TIMGUL hosting, involving the eventual transfer of the 1and1 package ownership to one of the staff/op or multiple ones. This finally happened tonight and Rcfreak0, who is primarly active on the IRC channel of that site and partially in charge of maintaining it, was chosen as the new person in charge of the hosting bill, starting after October 2010 (altough payments are now officially made by him, I have assumed the costs for the next two 6-months bills and the next domain name renewal by sending him the money in advance). This is not really a money issue, but more of a long-term Omnimaga/TIMGUL future one, in terms of online avaliability. Altough a few other people including myself still has full access to both the 1and1 panel and the FTP, rcfreak0 will now be the person keeping Omnimaga/TIMGUL avaliable online in long term. DJ Droppin, Fear 2 Stop, Not A Number and The Lyricist will remain in charge of TIMGUL management and I will remain in charge of the maintenance/backup portion of the site.

This hosting ownership change will have no impact on TIMGUL and Omnimaga itself, and will ensure better stability in long terms in terms of hosting.

The hosting package where is located TIMGUL and Omnimaga also hosts another website, an image folder and a file space folder, and may eventually host another site as well.

It could be, we never know x.x

I think if we don,t click their links we're safe, though, but many visitors might click them.

Also, DJ Dropping has deleted all member accounts that had 0 posts that didn't login for 140 days or higher. They aren,t really needed anyway since now mp3 attachments are visible to guests.

X.x that sucks, why don't hackers have anything better to do? It's like when spammers kept hacking TIMGUL site in 2008 until we switched to SMF, i had to check my FTP every day so my host won't suspend me for bad files.

I never had any issues regarding my own computer getting hacked, though, but again I always had latest Windows updates, antivirus and firewall activated. If you use an older version of Windows, like 95, 98, 2000 or even ME, then it could be an issue, though, since these are no longer maintained. Same if you download torrent/warez, some files will be claimed as clean, but they just hide viruses that will be discovered like one or two years later, then it will be too late as the virus will have damaged your computer files alerady. I generally keep backups of my important stuff like on a file hosting, USB flash drive, DVDs, CDs or another computer now, in case. But still, I wish people had better things to do than do harm to people.

Please don't give up, though, I would like to see your show at one point and from what I remember in an old topic of yours, if I read carefully you alerady had a big audience, right? I wouldn't be surprised if many people are interested in listening/watching it again if they like non-commercial music.

All you do is install a copy of RPG Maker 2003 on your computer, then in RM2K3 click Open to select project folder. The folder you must select is the same as where SSH is installed, then you can edit the game however you want. What needs to be added is maps, enemies and lot of stuff, as it won't get further than the 1st boss (well, you arrive in a town afterward, but it's incomplete). The bosses were what I was gonna have the most troubles with, since if I wanted larger ones, I would have got to code full of AI

News and announcements / Massive forum member purge
February 20, 2010, 08:19:58 AM
Ok, so I am not really back, but recently my other site has been hit by a massive wave of spambots. Altough still 12 times smaller than our Invisionfree board in 2007 (and TIMGUL back when it still used InvisionBoard 1.3 in 2007-early 2008), 3 spambots registrations a day is still a lot considering all anti-spams we have. Then I thought about TIMGUL and remember Rob telling me about a lot of new registrations here. So I checked, and there were a lot of spambots registrations. So I installed an anti-spam that should hopefully block 90% of them. I also filtered these bad accounts. There was even a member who signed up 10 times under an e-mail like BathurstEmma@gmail.com or something like that, with dots in the address, so if you noticed the membercount seems to have decreased this much, this is why.

Also, *static.theplanet.com was banned as a whole, because of a recent invasion from there. Spambots appears to use this hosting provider as a shell, proxy or VHost to do their thing.

I also deleted the entire Trash Bin forum that only staff could see, because it gave 500 Internal Server Errors and was impossible to access, so this is why the forum post count went down by almost 5000. Now I recreated a new Trash bin.

This should help preventing some problems because anyone could click the spambot links and get hacked or infected by bad files they contain, or fall for phishing scams. This should also help preventing my host from shutting down my account if they ever noticed our database was filled with these links.

I will also probably scan through forum files and update some mods, in case they are outdated.

I am sorry to say that the last progress done on this game dates back in December 2008 and that I finally lost interest, after running into a bunch of errors. Programming events in PC languages or game makers is definitively not my forte. After one year, I finally decided to release what I have, since it is pretty much discontinued, so you can play what I had anyway.

Quoted from file info page:
QuoteA never finished futuristic action-RPG made using RPG Maker 2003, featuring real-time battle engine. All music was made using MTV Music Generator softwares by DJ Omnimaga, Beoulve and Pillagemyvillage. All sound effects by DJ Omnimaga, same for the graphics (the char/enemy sprites were generated with Charas.EX). The project was cancelled Early 2009.

To level up you must earn gold to buy upgrades for your character (attack, defense and speed). Use the arrow keys to move, Enter or Space to attack and confirm, Esc to cancel or bring up the pause menu and F12 to go back to title screen without saving.

Preview:

NOTE: tested under Windows XP SP2 32 and the 64 Bit version of Windows 7: worked fine. I believe it should run on some old computers, such as a 500 MHz computer, but something newer is recommended since this game uses slightly more ressources than a regular RM2K3 game.

I am sorry for the people who actually looked forward to this x.x

Mhmm feel free to use any of my music that is located here or my other site in your show. If you are doing a MTVMG-only show, keep in mind some songs that are on my other site are not made with MTVMG, though (such as Euro Blast From The past, Everest and the mashups)

EDIT: I notice that Savefile.com has shutted down... also since most TIMGUL mp3s were corrupted from what I remember, I would recommend downloading my songs at the following URLs. Just look for the files that were uploaded under the nickname "DJ Omnimaga":

http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;cat=4;start=0;sortby=membername;orderby=asc
http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;cat=5;start=0;sortby=membername;orderby=asc

Good luck with your show and glad you alerady got a lot of listeners. Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to listen yet but I might try to in the future. Does it require anything special to be installed? I am used to just type a radio URL in iTunes then it plays.

For a flash player, since this forum software won't let us put them in each person profiles, my guess is that there would need a sub forum section added where everyone can ask the admin to post a topic with the Flash player embeeded into it.

It would need to have to be the admin doing the embeeding, because allowing every member to embeed flash in posts is not a good idea. Any new member who want to cause trouble may register and embeed cookie/password theft scripts, viruses or wreck the entire board/crash people's browsers.

Well, one thing I must say before going is that on any other music forum, no matter how good your music sounds or how quality your production is, if you ever mentions you used Ejay, MTVMG, Magix, Buzz, Open MPT or even Sony ACID to make your song(s), you will lose respect instantly, simply because these people are too narrow-minded to realise it's not what you use that count, it's what you make and at most places, whenever your stuff won't sound mainstream, nobody cares. I know how it is. I posted my music on music forums before. Whenever I mentionned the acronym MTVMG, the forums turned into 4chan/b/.

On TIMGUL people are more open minded towards music, even if many people now uses pro equipment to make their songs.

Yeah true, I do hope his IP address is not used to send these messages. It would suck to have to ban him because of someone else x.x

(also this forum shows hostmasks)
#59
Did quade sent something to The Lyricist? Because I thought his forum account (Quade77) was gone. I remember he usually did that before with Casper and if I remember he had some not-so-nice replies to The Lyricist over here on the forums too.

If he causes trouble over here, just check the user profile and click the "Track User" or "track IP" option to the left menu. You will see every IP address used by the member and (if applicable) alternative accounts. Keep in mind that since he knows Pillage in real life, he might have posted from his home, though, or vice versa, so as a result, some IP might match Pillagemyvillage.

In any case when I ban people on Omnimaga I generally ban his IP addresses and account and if ban evasion occurs I disable registrations until he gives up (so we don't need to spend hours deleting new bad accounts over and over). I also keep up to date with the latest SMF 1.1.x versions (which is currently 1.1.11) in case one Omnimaga hater may go further than just trolling the site.

The issue on my side is that:

-back in August 2008, my ISP fucked up big time. MY internet speed remained fine (10 mbps), but my latency rose in the 10000ms. Guess what it means? That means that while pages (and songs) loaded fast, I had to wait 10 seconds before each of them even starts loading at all. This lasted two months. At this point I pretty much gave up on listening to people songs

-In the meantime, many people started using slow hostings like Savefiles instead of the forum uploader. Even more loading time, meaning even less song I can listen to. This was later fixed with a 20 MB upload limit, but fixed too late.

-In September 2008, I revived an old site I used to run until December 2007 (Omnimaga). Back in 2007, this site had no effect on my TIMGUL activity because TIMGUL was barely active at all (about 100 posts per month). I was always focussing more on Omnimaga than TIMGUL since the beginning, but as I said, TIMGUL could not be affected because there were very few songs to comment on. When I revived my old website, this was different. TIMGUL was much more active than it used to be, new songs poured in the uploads every day. In addition to this, life was hectic and I was busy, and since my interest toward TI calculators was always higher than music since 2002, it's obviously Omnimaga that got most of my activity. Not to mention I couldn't listen to people tracks due to internet issues anyway.

-October 2008 was the only month I got able to listen to some songs. Omnimaga went through an inactivity period that month and my internet stopped sucking. Due to a huge backlog of songs I didn't listen to the two previous months, I never got able to listen to everything, though.

-November 2008, Omnimaga became more active again and I started being more busy. Eventually Omnimaga had around 1000-1400 posts a month.

-February 2009, TIMGUL fights started and eventually, when I discovered I could do nothing to solve the issue while satisfying everyone, I eventually gave up. I kept returning every now and then but fights would always rise again, so eventually I gave the site controls to JCW. At this point I pretty much lost all interest I had for music creation and electronic music itself and took a long while to recover. However, because of what happened, my heart was broken too many times and I pretty much eventually lost interest to TIMGUL. I was tired of drama and I feared it would be a recurring event from now on. On top of that, a data wipe had to happen (which was due to a buggy SMF install, which makes me happy I did not apply to my other site as well). At this point, I decided to just focus on Omnimaga website.

-Unfortunately, now I also can no longer manage two forums at once, especially with one that gets over 1400 posts per month and where I often get a lot of requests. The result: I am still not back despite fights no longer occuring (I think). If my life got even more busy or worse than it was in September, I would leave Omnimaga too. If you want to check for yourself, just look at the forum stats at the bottom of the page here:

http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=stats

Some people may tell me to ditch Omnimaga because it's just about graphing calculators, but I won't. I don't program them a lot anymore but Omnimaga discussion community existed since almost 5 years now and as I said I am more involved in that kind of stuff than music. As proof, Magic hardcore and Eurobeatizer are the only songs I made in the past two months and I'm just starting a new one now (on MTVMG3).

So I am afraid comments from me on songs are things of the past. Even if no fights would have occured in the first half of 2009, I would no longer have been able to keep up. Not to mention that I suck at criticising. I hardly ever check my Youtube subscribers anymore either.

That said, I think even if someone receives no comments, I don't think he should get that pissed over it. Look, it took one year before half of my songs even gets one comment at all. It took two years before some of them even receives comments at all. Some comments were even posted after I left. Also I can count on my hand how many of my new Youtube song videos got more than 200 views. I did not complain because I knew somewhere someone was still listening to my songs or would eventually do, and even if very few people did, I was happy some people liked my form of expression. I don't think you should feel too bad about lack of comments on your songs. On top of that, TIMGUL used to do much worse than that. As I mentionned earlier, 100 posts a month once, if not less. Plus activity seems higher now than it was right after JCW left. Also, people should remember they are lucky a MTVMG board exists at all and that somebody spent $150 so far to keep it online (which could have been used to pay parts of a Sony ACID Pro 7 license or a brand new computer).

Anyway that's both my two cents and also why I did not myself comment on songs for so long. I do hope no one makes me or JCW feel guilty (due to our leaving) about the lack of comments on songs since the past few months. Shit happened plus life got in the way. I am pretty sure other people got fed up of the constant fights here too (and how whenever admins took action, everyone lashed on them and screamed "ZOMGcensorship!", which caused the fight problem to not be solved).
