@TPT: is the new one going to include the singles you've uploaded so far or brand new stuff?

Yeah its mostly the stuff I've uploaded. Only a couple of them haven't been uplaoded, and there's a remix by Vertabreak (my brother) :)

Guess I'm too trigger-happy with the uploads. I like to know my progress as soon as I've finished something

I only have one EP available for download. There were two others, but they sucked lemons. And they've all focused on Game Boy music. My upcoming one will be my first attempt using Music.

"I Refuse to be 30" - (2008)
"Beyond Earth" - (Due for release Sep 09)

Ironically it was my interest in music for the Game Boy that brought me to this site.

I've been making music on the Game Boy for a couple of years. It was Pocket Music for the GBA that made me use Music on the PS1 and then I was drawn here :)

In the chiptune community, Pocket Music for the GBA is considered a whole lot worse than Pocket Music on the GBC. Simply because the sample quality is so bad. At least on the GBC the instruments on the two melody channels are not samples, so there's no horrible noise. I used Pocket Music for a while then gave it to my brother, who had a play around with it a couple of times before giving up on it as well.

Actually although Pocket Music on the GBC has 5 channels, the game boy only has 4. The wave channel can be made to play two samples at the same time.

I'm fairly sure nobody needed to know that, but since the topic was Game Boy oriented I felt the need to stick my nose in ;-)

After 2 years of using LSDJ to make music on the Game Boy, I've only just got round to using Pocket Music GBC. I'm liking it, but I have a question. Does anyone know of a way to take the edge off of the noise of the samples? A hardware solution that I could use live, like a noise gate or something? I'm afraid I have little knowledge of musical hardware :)

All help greatly appreciated.

Experimental/Other / Your Ozone- Raw draft
August 03, 2009, 11:46:28 AM
Hey everyone. This is a tune based around a pre-made riff. I don't like using pre-made stuff, only for fill-ins and sound effects, but this tune sounded so delicious I had to post it.

I used the Eurozone riff from Music 3000. Decided to call it Your Ozone just so Music users get the reference. I had a bit of a dilemma when naming it, since its a pre-made main riff should it really be called a remix? Or should it be classified like people who use samples of other bands? In the end I just gave it a name which gives some indication as to its origin.

Please note this is its raw draft, no post processing.
All constructive criticism greatly appreciated

Cheers for the info. Seems to be part luck and part co-incidence that it hasn't crashed for me so often.

But ever since I heard about the crashing, I've backed up near enough after every riff change :)

From what i gather, everyone has experienced Music 3000 crashing a lot. I've been using it on my ps2 for a few months, made quite a few tunes and its only ever crashed once. Is there another version of m3k that is the crashmonster, like a pc version or something, or have i just been really lucky?

Good point. Must admit I had noticed it can be a little repetitive in the main.
Thanks for the input :)

Cheers JohnP. Yeah you're right its dancer :) My favourite bass too. The voice sample is one of the stock effected vox sounds. Afraid i don't have the skill to fiddle with samples that closely :) I don't have any other tracks that i'm completely happy with to upload at the mo. But working on it :)

New track on Music 3000. Please give constructive criticism, its the only way I'll get any better.

Cheers

Got hold of PS1 Music at a car boot the other day for a quid. I already have it so I wondered if anyone here wanted it. I haven't tested it but the disc seems to be in good order. It has manuals, box, original advertising leaflets and stuff with it.

£1.50 inc p&p

First to reply or PM me gets it.
