here is my entry for the contest, it is made with music2000, using 100% of sound memory. i can't remember when i started working on this song, maybe it was 2003, maybe 2004. back then i conceived it as some kind of big beat tune, the beat was completely different and at first i was going to include this song in the record i was preparing (ultimaelectrica, then called the megabreaks project). then over time i decided to modify the musical genre (the piano riff didn't fit a broken beat) and went for a melodic trance style. it' almost 2010 now (year of the robot control?) and i haven't completed it yet. this is a special edition for the contest, i have added some chrismassy touches here and there. the main influences on this song were:
sasha - xpander (i'd say 60% at least)
nobuo uematsu 20%
pillagemyvillage 20%

this is the result of several hours of work over at least 5 years. i hope you enjoy

Nice clear sound on and use of those acoustic guitar strings.
in fact there are no guitar samples, the main riff you are probably talking about is made with 3 different piano samples.

thanks for listening and for your kind words :)

Okay getting serious now.....
Really like the acoustic/piano intro.
Subtle sleigh bells....
:35 when the bell and strings kick in.... So nice...
1:34 Beat.... everything.... So fantastic. Truly moving and uplifting.
2:18 Love this break down section... Kind of a trance style to it
3:35 The synth bass kind of grungy with the percussion. Has a nice touch to it.
4:15 wow.. The melodies.... These strings are epic something truly astounding.
5:59 Just the light percussion, strings, and amazing piano....
The ending was unexpected with the slow down and change of octave, but it's fantastic how you did it.

Very impressive piece of music here. I was unsure if you were going to create one, well no I should say I was anxiously awaiting your entry. This song just made the competition that much tougher.

DarkBliss

Gorgeous piano work, lovely strings, a real Christmassy feel already.

Love the kick, I actually wasn`t expecting that!

There`s a real sense of urgency with this track, almost as if it`s dipicting Father Christmas` mad dash to fly around the world in one night!  :)

It`s upbeat yet there`s still a seasonal beauty about this, man I can`t get over those piano melodies, just fantastic.

Beautiful ending too, well done Shell my friend, a worthy entry indeed.

I know it's a bit late for this, but i loved this track. As DarkBliss said, gorgeus piano work, a great beat, and a catchy tune overall. Better'n my entry, for sure. XD
