Title: House track :- New york subways (now with youtube link)
Post by: stonecold on January 16, 2009, 01:45:05 PM
This tune i did in 2001. I played this out djing but used to drop a cool accapella over it. Cant find the vinyl(il post a vid on YT when i do)
Anyways, inspired by chicago house, and new york garage scenes.
Its a bit repetitive but imagine a soul chick screamin her lungs out over it, and you get the idea.
Hopefuly it'l make ya dance!

Created on Music 2000 ps1.

This sounds really pro!,Very chicago house, funky too,Did you use any imports? sounds like i heard the amen snare pitched up at the 1:57 mark Sometimes i like to dig out my chicago house 12"s and spin a few.Good stuff :D

You got a good ear irndemon! I forgot that was in there!
Yeah i sampled one of the snares from the break and piched it up. I gave the hits a 'swing' on the lead up to the beat.

Thats the only imported sample.
After listening to it in the car, i think the kick's a bit 'pippy'. Il sort that when i do the vid. (i remember it being real punchy when put through a big rig)

Thanks for the comment mate. You a vinyl fan too?

:D Yeah,Lovin the sound of amen!!I am a fan of vinyl too,I have some chicago & some old hip house records and some breakbeat, hardstyle and dub reggae, But most of my collection is jungle & drum n bass ranging from around the mid ninties till now, everything from atmospheric to darkstep,I used to co-orginize & play at underground parties  with a  soundsystem.Kinda forced to give it up if you know what i mean ;D

Like I said before I really like this track, but I recently checked out the cheeky vocals mix, and I like it even more, the second mix reminds me of a DJ's work that I listen too from time to time from Chicago named DJ Marcuis.
