YES, i did it again...this time i used a couple of trance samples...the riffs that were already pre-made...i was experimenting the other day, ad came up with this!! sneaky-shadows-ninja sound to it haha...

intro, chorus, erse, chorus, verse/bridge, chorus, fade....i think thats how it goes... anyway, hope you like this mix...

thanks ghost!!  it was a challenge to use the sample editor on MG2...but im pretty happy with it.

I give it an 8 as well.

PROS:

awesome amount of samples already in the game

i love the fact that you can customize your own sound using the samples, really gets the creative juices going! plus, the song becomes original and you own.  you can say "hey, i made ALL of this."

CONS:
I love this prog, but i dont like the limitations.  I have the sampler kit and when you record voice (lets say a chorus or verse) it lasts about 8 bars and after that, you cant add anything else!

its good for short voice/samples though.  but if you want to make a song with original lyrics i suggest using another prog to add it on top of your beat.

i too dislike some of the glitches, like for example when you have too much percussion, you cant hear some of the hi hats.


other than that, its great...been using it for YEARS and YEARS now haha...maybe i'll give it an 8.5...is there an 8.5??? i dont remember

This time I used a flute sample from the game and chopped it up.  I also used a guitar strum.  Sampling like this are firsts for me.  Hope you like it.

i too froze when i looked at fruity loops...hahaha....and i thought creating your own riffs on PS2 was hard!! but i wouldn't mind learning FL either...

The only FEW female gamers i ever came across was on Counterstrike (PC), and COD4 (360)....oh and one of my old classmates plays FFXI online..like religiously...come to think about it...there's a lot of gamer chix at the art institutes...doing game art haha...but producers for games like these??? havnt seen any but the one Omni was takin about...

havnt been on in a while...my computer crashed due to a DL of a corrupt file...weakest thing ever!!! lost almost everything!! 

damn...those were the places i would've said to look...i got mine off of ebay in 2003...had a bidding war...started off at $35 i ended up paying $180!!! yeah i wanted it that bad!! haha...maybe check a used game store if there is one by you...thats about it....keep checking ebay

the only thing i dont like about it is you can sample probably 8 bars worth of music, and thats it...once you fill up the sample memory from the sample kit, you can bearly add any instruments!!(if any at all)

what i had to do before was record the sample and the beat separate and use another program to mix them together (i used music creator pro)...its a crazy process...the mic quality is nice for a ps2 usb plugin though haha

Okay, heres version 2 of my track..

i had some time today to tweak a lil bit more...

-Sped up the tempo from 160-164
-worked with the volume on the samples
-changed the sub bassline
-and worked on panning a bit

sounds a lil bit better, but i dont know if its me, but i still think there's a clashing note in there somewhere...can anyone point it out??

i hate when that happens too...i guess it IS a lose lose situation haha

ever since i got the chance to listen to this jam in the car, i was thinking about changing the sub bass line...maybe it's me but there might be a few clashing notes.  I might stick with the first bassline and add a sub version of that, OR just change the bassline in general...

ANY feedback would be greatly appreciated.
