Title: Dark Side of Drum n bass
Post by: DJ Eddy on July 23, 2010, 05:53:45 PM
Ok this is my first ever try at a metal song (well Heavy metal DnB)
I aint got a clue when it comes to rock or metal i never really listen to it but ive been checking ppls metal and it made me wanna give it a go (but  in my  own way).
Its a bit messy in some places i might make it neater 1 day.
Made using MTVMG 2002.
Plz let us know what u think.

this pretty fucking sick-i love the creepy pads and the almost dubstep like beat-the come ur guitars-they sound pretty fluid and don't really sound like samples-i'm a fan i guess u can tell cause i put 3 of ur tracks on renegades 8-theres so much cool new stuff i prolly need to do 2 or 3 back to back mixes,i'm just kinda been lazy-i'm currently downloading abuncha movies for a grindhouse cinema collection and it's kinda time consuming(also makes my pc so slow i can't do much)u got so much good stuff coming out i'll have to put like 2 of ur tracks on every mix lol-keep experimenting with different genres it's a good move and fun as hell   cheers   casper

well don't worry you will be on a lot of mixes to come-u should compile an album m8-i want my next mix to also include some guys i missed last time like not a number, fear 2stop,master dutch, knowlsey, danthrax and others so i gotta keep that in mind-i really try to make a diverse mix rather than just the stuff i am partial to-like house trance and rave/hardcore-so that everyone feels included.i like your jamwave page btw-good songs in a flash player:-D     casper

Yea i see ur high in the electronic chart, rightly so u got some damn amazing tunes in the flashy =).
I was thinking about doing an album but i might make a few different styles first then do it.
I know what u mean about putting other ppl and styles on your mixes nice to have a range for everyone to listen 2.

I just like to use the deepest stuff i can find, then make it constant as possible, if you know what i mean. I try to do it so people think theres no let up from me. I use Sustain D and Sustain C, tune them together, have one on the right side, the other on the left. I then use walking bass and another bass with that and the sounds starts to come together. I don't think you really need my help tho mate coz what you have happening is unique, and i'd just hammer on with that. I think DJ Eddy has his own style and i want more!! lol

Haha cheers mate. i meant BY knowlesy there haha. Hey where abouts you from anyways? I'm an aussie, its about lunch time here too. Another thing i do sometimes is double up on samples, like guitars and drum beats. I find it gives it that extra bit of insanity haha.

i do to and pan a kick drum 50% each way sounds better IMO.

Yeah so do i mate. I love the sound of a snare thats metallic sounding. A lot of my stuff is industrial too. Maybe i should attempt a dance metal song...hmm...
