Thanks for the welcome.

I could not tell you where they find such beauty, but it's there within them.  It's going to take me forever to go through and comment on every song ... and that's just one genre category. lol

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Re: enchanted forest

I agree entirely with DarkBliss.  You should definitely look into video game audio production.  This original mix is much slower than the (dungeon mix), and it still gives me great visualizations.  It reminds me of a trek across a great land, surrounded by dark and, not ironically, enchanting forests.

Very fitting name for a very lovely song.

I like it.  Perhaps because I haven't heard all of your other versions, but I don't see why you wouldn't be happy with this one.  A remix is usually a good thing.

Hm.  This makes me want to smoke and play RPG games.  It could also work very well as a sleeping aid ... mesmerizing and enchanting ... definitely the likes of an enchanted forest.  Maybe it's just because hallucinations are native to me, but it gives me awesome visualizations.  Great job, man. :)

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Re: Nevermore (single)

Thank you for your patience.  I really appreciate it.

The issue has been resolved and the link should work again.  I've updated the link to appropriate the "music" sub-domain.  Once again, you should be able to simply click on it and Save/Open the file.  If not, right-click the link and select Save Target As.

I hope you enjoy it!  And believe me, there a lot more to be posted.

Well, I have some [hopefully temporary] bad news.  GoDaddy charged me more than what they said they were and now I have an issue with the bank and with the webhost.  Unfortunately, the link won't work at this moment, but I'm working diligently to resolve it.

When the link worked, all you needed to do was click it and it should automatically ask you to open or save the file.  It's a direct link to the .mp3.

Please bear with me during this.  It was quite unexpected and has upset me a little.

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Nevermore (single)

Genre: Classical/Experimental
File-type: MP3 @ 128Kbps
File-size: 6.8Mb
Console: MTVMG1 for PS1

This is the remix to my ballad, "evermore", with a darker and less symphonic sound.  Found in The Second Age on album I. The Lost Memoirs.

This is also the second piece of music I have ever written.

Honestly, and this is coming from the heart, I don't want to be famous.  I just want people to enjoy the music as much as I do.  ;)

Danke!

I still prefer MG1 over everything else I've used.  I agree entirely about MG3.  It's limited greatly, but there are still enduring qualities about the mixes that can come from it.  I only write Instrumentals, so you won't find but a few vocal samples ... three, I believe.  A laugh and some minor scat.

I understand about security.  I can't stand anything suspicious, malicious or even pop-up windows (unless they're required through the web-design structure).  I suppose there's no need to advertise further.

Thanks for the welcome, by the way.  I typically don't use forums, but this one is very special to me.  Oh, and as far as selling anything, that's in the process of becoming a reality ... and a slow moving process at that.  It's a UK distributor; a very close friend of mine running his own business.  I trust him, but eventually, there won't be a need to buy anything unless you want the hard-copy with the album art.  The discography will be free to download, regardless.

I actually enjoy the idea of free-sharing.  Regardless of copyrights, I, and everyone else who can recognize my style, knows that my songs are mine.  And, if anyone wants proof, I have the memory cards.  No one else can say that. ;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright - As mesemdilo stated, people are inevitably going to share, steal, rip, burn, slice, mix, remix and ultimately change your art.  It's been happening to artists since the first beat was placed on an animal-hide drum.  Get used to it.

Personally, especially in the terms of Art and, specifically, Music, there is nothing more ignorant than bashing someone else's work.  Music is exceptionally personal.  And to jump in and say that anyone's music is of worse quality or of lower production value is also individual.  If they can't keep their vocal ignorance to themselves, I discard their views and ignore them.

I've used both the MG series and FL Studio and I'm fond of them both, individually and when used together. (I've only tried to blend them once, but I couldn't achieve the sound I wanted, and thus abandoned the attempt)

It all depends on what sound you want and how far you're willing to go to acquire it.  Use anything you can, even recorded sounds that you find around the house.  (like that awesome roaring sound your furnace makes when it starts up in the winter season)  It's all good.

The only other studio program I've used other than the MG series is FL Studio 5, formerly known as Fruity Loops.  I used only stock samples and sounds, along with their Keys synthesizer for piano, and resulted in an EP and a LP.  The sound I acquired has always reminded me of the video game Quake (soundtrack by Nine Inch Nails).  You can hear two of the songs, "hollow" and "industrial sex", at this address: http://www.myspace.com/juliannachash

The rest of the songs listed there were done using the MG1 and MG3, respectively.

(I apologize for not linking directly to my website.  The reason is because my entire discography is stored on a different computer, which is unavailable at this moment.)

My style is very simplistic and unique.  I can't really think of any other genre than Experimental.  Perhaps "Ambient", but that's more of the mood than the genre.  I'll give you my opinion, JCW, as I listen to more of your music. ;)

Honestly, I've never been inspired by anything or anyone except the music.  I start with a tune in my head, start to transpose it to the studio and work from there.  The music sort of writes itself, really.  lol

Ok.  I've listened to two pieces created on the MG2 and I must say that I have apparently misjudged this game.  I seriously must have missed something while I was playing it ... and I just might have to purchase it immediately.

Introductions / A Formal Introduction
October 13, 2008, 05:28:05 PM
Greetings and salutations.

I must admit, it was difficult to find this site.  But now that I have found it, I do believe I shall do quite a bit of exploring, for there is much to see and hear.

I don't tend to describe much of my history with the Music series.  To put it simply: I started with the MG for the PS1 in 2000 and composed several albums; found that I did not like the MG2 for the PS2; settled with the MG3 for the Xbox (although I was a little disappointed in the lack of actual composition qualities) and composed/mixed several more albums.  Eventually, I moved on to other PC software and have been keeping myself occupied with numerous projects ever since.

I understand that, according to the TOS, we're not meant to advertise.  Does that include our own websites?  It's much easier to find my music on my available sites.

Sincerely, although delayed,
-Julian A. Nachash
