Yeah i noticed this too. Nice to see you've taken the time to test em out and post them up!   :)

You're right about them sometimes sounding good. The funk/jazz snares and brushes put down 'out the box' sound quite 'human' and add a slight swing.

Good stuff Irndemon.

I used windows movie maker. Dropped my .wav file in,then  just used 1 picture (and titles)which changes in sync with the track. Once exported at 'highest quality' it came in at about 60 mb (i believe quality suffers more when uploading over 1Gig). It took about 20 mins to upload and another 45mins for you tube to convert it, however i think the sound quality, although compressed, sounds very good. And it is in sync.
I get probs making a proper vid using a mixture of mpegs/avi/wmv as movie maker crashes.

If it's all about the music just make ur vid with .wav(highest quality) and use a picture/text.

Here's my effort:-

To get a system up and running how about inserting 'available for remixing' when uploading a tune, as a way of letting people know your cool with it. And a list of the sample(s) used for main parts, say bass/melody.

I might edit and tweek it abit for a future upload, but for now its as i made it 7 years ago.

Hi Knowlesy, nice to meet ya. Im new myself here but from what iv seen and heared it is a very friendly place.
Ignore anybody who takes the mick out of users of m2000. Its not wot it is... its how u use it.

There are many ways of getting your music from playstation-pc. If you are using a Y adaptor i presume you are recording to pc via line in.Quality is dependent on soundcard/cables and the playstation/music software itself has slight underlying hiss.If you have a good soundcrd, get yourself the best quality cable/Y piece you can afford, shielded is best too as this stops interferance. Check your 'IN' levels. If the gain on your soundcrd is too high you will get clipping. Audicity has level ref so turn down if goin into the red.
You could get urself a usb/firewire external soundcard with all the softaware bundled with it to record almost any audio scource at very high quality. Prices vary from £50-£500. Or a basic usb dongle with line in.

To get my tunes into .wav quickly i just plug my ps into a boss br recorder and then export the file to my pc.

Hope to hear your stuff soon!

Digging through my mem cards and found this.Think i made it around 2000/2001.
It's my take on the very famous classical piece 'Canon in D major' by 'Johann Pachelbel' written in 1680 (no copyright probs there then!)
I remember it took me bloody ages to get it all together, and nearly cried when i heard it again after all these years!
Created on Music2000 on ps1.

So chill out,take in,and enjoy.

Yeah id like to know more on that note repeat thing. Im gonna have a delv into it later....

That vocal effect ur asking about is simple to achieve and sounds amazing when used in small amounts.
Its the same principle whatever music programme u use.

First trim up the vocal sample to last say one silable(or experiment with a whole word),but make sure u leave about a half second silence before the sample actualy starts, this is very important.Go into the sample editor and reverse the sample. Then add some reverb(try various length/depth settings) Then reverse it back again. You will then have a swelling sound that leads up to ur vocal.

Best use iv heared lately is on 'Flux' by 'Bloc party'
sshhhhhhhwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwWWWWWWW We need to talk!

Good stuff.

Thanks Darkbliss
I presume u mean the main sample which lasts 8 beats. I dont know the exact origins of it, but the track i sampled it from is by 'Four Tet' -'As Serious As Your Life'(he obviously sampled it from another track) Check it out, it has a similar vibe to my version (which is why i called it a rmx) but has more of a cut up beaty feel.

All other sounds used are music2000 samples.

Cheers Irndemon. Yeah, trimming that up took some time!
Im not to sure about the synth 'solo'. I had the idea of 80's retro but not 100% happy with it. Maybe il change the sound.
Thnx for the nice comment.

Oldkool break style 106 bpm.
Ok, i used a whole mem card just with the sample and built the track around it in a few hours.
Hope you like.

MUSIC 2000/MTV Music Generator / Re: music 2000 poll!

10/10. (psone)
Classic.
It can still hold its own against fl studio and acid not just in a creative intuative sense, but in hearing the end result. Part of its greatness for me is making music on a 9 year old 'game' with LOTS of limitations(compared with modern pc based sequencer/samplers)........Getting around them, and making tracks that sound awsome.
When a friend comes over and loves your new tune do you tell them 'yeah i made this with a kids game on that clapped out playstation over there"....or not?

After 5 secs i knew this was made by a 'music' master! Great production. Pro sound.
