Thanks for the awesome feedback dude :D

Can I ask what you mean by two things you said:
1) Contrast
2) It's all incredibly smooth

I'd be greatful if you could elaborate on those points :)

Thanks again :)

Computer game menu music. Interesting concept, I like it :D

Hey guys, I have re-worked my remix of the Tomb Raider 1 theme tune and I think it is better :)

I replaced the piano with the harp.
I replaced the kick drum with a smoother, funkier one.
I offset the second-of-every-bar finger-click.
I shortened the entire track by cutting out certain parts that just made it drag on.
I reworked the main string theme.
I turned the bass up a touch, and the pad down a touch.
I added the short little melody that features in the themes to Tomb Raiders 2 and 3. :)

I agree it probably is (one of) the next-steps in the "progression" line. I do not wish to sound patronising to those who stay on M2k, because as I have said before - it's not what you have, it's how you use it. I am not saying that any tunes made on M2k will be crap compared to FL, but I think it is the next step up because, as JohnP says, it is more reliable, more user friendly, and there is just simply more to do on it. More things at your fingertips to play with, more opportunities for sound production, more variety - it is more flexible

But still, it's easy to get the hang of · it can look pretty and colourful as M2k does (especially as you can apply your own background) whereas some production programs can look dull · it can function as easily or as complex as you want it to. You can choose to just use samples, or you can explore the effects, synths etc.

Wow thanks DarkBliss :D great comments there!

And *WHAT* a compliment comparing me to Aphex and Orbital. Two of my biggest inspirations - two artists I love dearly. I made this track before I had heard of Aphex, and before I really got into Orbital's work.

Sci-fi feel? I hadn't thought of it that way. Interesting that you say that though. Shows how music can be received/perceived in different ways by different people.

Thanks again :D

Wow I love the use of highly-reverberated drums. Works well in this track.

Hehe and I just noticed the "Twilight" pad - one of my favourites :P I like the unusual rumbling bass.
The only thing that I don't like is the main rasping tambourine - it's just a bit too loud for me.

It's very green. :)

I was 12 when Music came out...... wow. I still remember reading about it in a PlayStation magazine, then playing the demo of it, and then dad coming home with the full version for me. Wow.

23.

I meant it in a good way :P attributing the word "classic" to a style of music is never seen in a bad way, so why should it when it comes to people?

does the fact it says 1994 not worry anyone else? god i'm gettin old!

Nah, it means we have our history - we have a "classic" period in our lives. Just as you have classic Dance/Trance/House music and so on. We too, are classic :)

LOL no it wasn't on second thoughts.. your post just reminded me of this weird tech demo on PSX where this T-Rex walked along and you pushed a button to open his mouth or something, it was a black background and there was this weird music. If anyone knows what I'm talking about then cool. Lol.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. There was also manta-ray one, the music was this beautiful piano melody....... memories...........

Ah I remember Fluid. I never had it but I played a demo of it once I think. I personally thought the concept was bad because... didn't you have to swim around a sea looking for the "musical parts"?? What's the point? A music creation adventure game. I'd rather just one or the other lol.
