Do any of you know if it's possible to copy the Playstation 'Music' game disc to a PC and the replace all the original instrument files with your own samples before re-burning it to a new disc that'll work on a Playstation? This would open up some exciting possibilities for me if I could change the samples somehow :)

Cheers, Pete.

hmm to be possible the sound samples would have to be in a format that is editable by sound editors on a PC, else I doubt it would be possible, plus u need a chip in your playstation to run copied games, unless you use an emulator

Stair

A good idea but I don't think it would be possible too, you would need some serious knowledge about what you was doing. It would be far easyer to buy something like Cakewalk Kinetic for PC, it's fairly simple to use, has good sound quallity and is simular to Music 2000/MTV MG.
Just an idea ; )

you can probably get hold of a sample CD, beats etc and just upload from music2000 options.. hope you understand.. or maybe i'm missing the point??

DJ_Omnimaga

yeah actually you can do this in options, altough you can run out of RAM fast if you have long samples. It's better to only keep the part you need. Also this feature in Music 2000 doesn't work in emulators so you either have to use a real playstation or the PC version of Music 2000 (if it's avaliable in Europe), but then CD samples are out of the question since you can add wav samples directly in the load/save menu

Thanks.

I only use 'Music' - didn't like 'Music 2000' even though it contained many of the features I mentioned in the customer response form for 'Music'. It seemed a bit clumsy and they'd changed the user interface a lot.  ;)

Yeah I had issues with the CD options feature, the tune 6 7 8 I made had a 10 second sample (roughly) takes up 10 memory card blocks!! Gonna order me another copy of MUSIC2000 prices start from 1p..YAY!!

Oh yeah, I have some tunes created on reason a programme for PC, not my music but awesome all the same, will be putting some on my youtube page.. More MUSIC2000 uploads in process

DJ_Omnimaga

@147 cool I want to hear them asap :)

@red Aah i see, I guess you are a bit like me then. I tend to get issues getting used to a new software. I started with Music 2000 and even though I got MTVMG2 and Sony Acid Pro a month ago I still use Music 2000 only because I am more used to it.

Like it "A good workman.." haha.. I love MUSIC2000 but it is hard to find the right sounds sometimes... I have issues with snares the most..

Will be uploading some REASON tunes now.. got a nice remix of DESTINYS CHILD-Survivor real nice dnb, bass line is HARDCORE!!!

Did you listen to the pieces I added from my good friend yet?? Have a few more of his, Vivaldi sample + Mummy returns Sample both really good, Think these were created on REASON... FUN FUN FUN

too much BASS, not enough time!

Yeah they were great. Keep in mind that you are not allowed to upload/post songs made with non-jester/codemasters program in the "Music that you created" section of the forums though, it has to be stuff made with MUSIC, Music 2000, Music 3000, MTV Music Generator, MTV Music Generator 2, MTV Music Generator 3, Funkmaster Flex Digital Hitz Factory or Pocket Music. You cna post links to songs made with other programs in the general music section though ;)

I didn't had much snare problems in 2000 since i don't do DnB but I had lot of problem with piano samples, because it doesn't have a lot of them, especially old skool ones :(

I don't really dare mess with piano melodies, not enough experience..Won't be putting these REASON tunes in the forum as I didn't create, wish I did though..LOVE 'EM.. Uploading a very nice mix of Dnb at the mo.. 5 tunes in 1 file, some of my favourite Dnb..no idea who made them though?? Will all be in my insperation topic on youtube

DJ_Omnimaga

cool I hope to hear them asap :)

As for piano for my happy hardcore songs I had to use chazipano instead, and it still sound different than in old skool happy hardcore. The piano sounds doesn't fit at all
