Title: Impressive music genre guide I found
Post by: DJ_Omnimaga on January 27, 2008, 08:05:28 AM
http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/ (http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/)

It should guide you which music genre are the dance songs you're listening too. It's not perfect, like for example they omitted the UK hardcore category and put all uk hardcore with trancecore and Makina seems missing, also the entire guide is biased based on opinions for the genres descriptions, but it's still a great guide imo.

I will prbly edit my songs to reflect the more exact genre soon

that site is really cool if not a little harsh (but it sure made me laugh!).
i found that my style is ibiza, epic and dutch trance.
but on the whole trance was ripped to pieces by this guy and although i agreed with some im not sure about others! but it was very funny so nice 1!  :D

actually for house there is eurobeat and jpop that are misplaced since both are derivated from italo disco, and jpop is supposed to be different. In my favourite genres it would be eurodance, happy eurodance, epic trance, happy hardcore, UK hardcore (which is missing), trancecore and speedcore

The website is a little critical on some genres but I'm inclined to agree on some such as Micro House which seems a little pointless... couldn't really get a beat anywhere through it.

Seems my music is a tad Oldskool Rave Hardcore, Industrial, Gloomcore, NRG and maybe some Hard House and Brit House not sure... bit hard to find my style there, all those songs are 100% better than my music.

P.S Track 5 on the VGM part - Chiptune Zombie Nation, hell yeah! Rofl.
