Anyone think maybe a possible colour scheme change would be a good idea? Maybe leave the grey colour (and the past) behind us and get a brighter colour in? Thoughts?

Hmmmm yeah that might work. Something new, fresh, and give TIMGUL a different look. I'm looking into this and speaking with Omni about it.

I made a similar-to-this-site design for my unofficial backup (http://timgul20.proboards.com/index.cgi); it's a simple colour scheme and the colours don't clash.
Although, one idea I have - in order to keep it associated with the MUSIC series; maybe have the background from one of the games as the site background? For example, in MUSIC 2000, you've got that "M2" background behind all the other windows: It's possible that you could screenshot that background, find where it loops together and have that tiled - it's a subtle background, after all. Only problem with that is that a possible copyright issue. But, this site even has "MTV" in the URL and we haven't gotten in trouble from that, so chances are we'll be safe using it. :P
Would Omni be OK with a new banner as well? I don't know if that would come under the scheme change either.
Banner I think would be a split decision, maybe it should be amalgamated with a new banner, transitioning the site, I have a few colour schemes in mind though
I've been talking to Omni about all of this... He's been thinking over the possible change of the logo/banner and new name as well.... Of course any decisions in this area are strictly his. It won't kill me if we don't have any changes, but at the same time a new improved fresh look could be great.
Not to sound like a megalomaniac here but seeing as Omni put us in charge and trusted us to run the site (which we will with respect), shouldn't the changes be up to us? I mean yeah it's his site and I appreciate him creating it and running it for so long because it's been a MUSIC godsend, but if he is absent and we are the show-runners shouldn't we decide what sketches get aired? (Analogy there)

Well honestly I told him I was supremely confident that I could find a solution and turn TIMGUL around and he trusted me to do so putting me in "charge' so to speak(even though he's in charge still), but nah somethings such as the layout/theme/banner/pic/logo and name I feel are definitely his decision. This site is definitely still his. I speak with him a lot and although you may not see his presence often he is still very much involved. He also is happy with the new changes and direction I'm trying to lead TIMGUL to. I hope to speak with him this morning or today at some point and perhaps we can find a great new layout/colour theme.
Oh by the way. Great idea on changing the colour/theme/layout.. Sorry m8 if I had not mentioned this sooner.
