Non-MUSIC/MTVMG / Beautiful Death (Mastered)
November 14, 2010, 01:49:34 AM
I`ve been working really hard trying to get my head around the mastering side of things over the last few weeks and so here is the mastered version of Beautiful Death.

Does it sound ok?

If so I`m going to master my other finished track "Way Out" in the same way and then crack on with the rest of the album.

Thanks. :D

Hey guys, it`s been a long time, hope all is well.

For those of you who don`t know me I was a regular member here for over a year but left to concentrate on learning new software (as many members have).

I`ve just joined Reverbnation and would aprecciate it if any of you fine people would check me out there and maybe even become a fan. It`ll only take two minutes and would really be helping me out. :D

You can also find a host of ex-TIMGUL members there, Quade and Pillage/Adamatica (who have now been signed to a record label!), Sacred Virgo, Spacekid, DJ Droppin, J-Tech and JCW being the ones I`ve found so far, so feel free to help those guys out too.

Thank you,

DarkBliss.

Albums / Entire DarkBliss collection
January 19, 2010, 07:07:34 PM
Ok guys, this is one big folder containing ALL my Music 2000 albums, including my two mini albums and a "best of" type compilation which includes the original version of "Beautiful Death". I`m also including the last track I ever made with 2000 which was originally going to be the first track to a new 2000 album, "In My Dreams I See A Polygon Girl", but was cancelled almost straight away.

I asked Lyricist to remove all the tracks I`ve posted here so this is the only place you`ll be able to download my 2000 tracks and I`ll only be keeping them online for a week or two before I delete them completely.

This is a decision I`ve come to on my own. I`ve definitely reached the end of my own personal Music 2000 road and I`m working very hard on a new album at the minute using Ableton Live which is taking most of my time up.

I`ll post that up here when it`s finished (around October/November 2010) for a limited time as I hope to get some sort of independent record deal with it.

Anyway, if you`re interested, here`s a little piece of my soul.

This is a compilation of songs taken from each of my albums and mini albums, it also includes "Beautiful Death" which didn`t feature on any of my previous albums.

I couldn`t quite fit everything I wanted on the compilation as it would have exceeded 80 mins otherwise, but it`ll do.

I`ve just finished re-uploading 90% of my tracks because the links were broken and in the process stumbled across some tracks that I either would like deleting or moving to a different section. So if I name the tracks here and what it is I`d like doing with them, can Mr JCW or you Mods sort them out for me?

Cheers in advance!

I want to burn a few samples onto a CD for use in future songs, but every time I try to burn them an "unknown error" occurs. This happens in iTunes and Windows CD burner.

I`ve never had this problem before but it just won`t burn at all now!

Can anybody help me?

Does anyone know of a website where I can download mp3`s (legitimately of course) of various sound effects to be burned on to CD? I`m really after a "3, 2, 1, blast off!" kind of voice sample.

Cheers.

This is a bit random but I just have to share it with you. This is genuinely one of, if not the most perfect song I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
Don`t get me wrong, I love punk, metal, hard dance etc but it`s these sort of emotional tunes that really get to me.

I love this song so much I`ve just gotta share it with you, it won`t be everybody`s cup of tea but if just one of you enjoy it then I`ll be happy.

Sigur Ros are absolute genius.

Other interests / Minidisc woes!
January 24, 2009, 05:14:48 PM
Ok, I have some old very old songs that I was gonna post, only trouble is they`re on Minidisc and the Minidisc player on my stereo doesn`t work (it says Toc read error), so I bought a cheap Minidisc player today in the hope that I`d be able to hook it up to my stereo and record directly onto my computer.

Now when I try to play the Minidisc`s on that, it`s telling me they`re blank discs! If it said that with just one then I`d accept I may have erased it by mistake, but it says the same thing for all my old Minidisc`s that have these old songs on them and I know for a fact I didn`t erase them!

Is it possible for a Minidisc to corrupt over time (I`ve had them for at least 6 years) and therefore erase the data itself?

I just need to know wheither it`s worth me buying another Minidisc player and trying on that before I give up and fling them.

November 18, 2008, 07:20:06 PM
I`ve noticed when I play a lot of my tunes back through a stereo at volume 20 or higher it becomes distorted. Is there any way I can reduce the bass and make the songs louder without them becoming distorted? I don`t have the master copies anymore, they were on Minidisc but since I got an iPod I put everything on there and this is the only format my songs are on (aside from my PC). I`ve tried re-recording some songs straight from my iPod on to Audacity but this doesn`t seem to work. I`ve also tried amplifying the tracks from Audacity but still they sound distorted when played at a certain volume. Any suggestions?

(By the way, I`ll get round to listening to everyone`s new tunes soon, been really busy lately!)

Hey, has anyone been able to download any of my tunes lately?
I have them saved on Savefile.com but for some reason I haven`t been able to access them for the past few days.
I`ve just tried downloading Quade`s new tunes (he`s on Savefile too) and the links aren`t working so I`m worried I`ll have to upload all my tracks on to a different hosting site which will be a pain in the arse!
I just hope it`s a temporary problem with the settings on my computer or something.

Other Music related Discussion / Genres
June 10, 2008, 07:43:12 PM
Hey Omni...I have a suggestion!

Have you ever considered splitting the "Music You Created " forum into different genres?

When somebody posts a new topic they could state the genre of music it belongs to, for example trance, and then this would go into a sub forum marked, say, dance/trance.

I know it`s hard to cover all genres in a few sub forums but I was thinking something along the lines of dance/trance, beats/electronic, ambient/chillout, dnb/hardcore etc.

I just think it`d be a bit easier to find tracks from a specific genre?

Let me know what you guys think?  ;)

Hey, I was wondering how to make my avatar appear bigger? I`ve tried uploading it again but it stays really small. The actual picture I upload is quite big so I`m a bit confused!  ???

So I`ve just spent around 4 hours on a new song, more or less finished, was quite different for me, using lots of acoustic guitar and synths in the vain of Joy Division. (I watched Control last night!)

Was just polishing it off, tweaking bits here and there, ready to post on here then BAM! My PS froze when I went in to the riff editor and I lost everything since I didn`t save it!

That`ll learn me!  >:(

Introductions / Buon giorno mi chiamo Dark Bliss.
May 05, 2008, 10:53:00 PM
Hello,

I`ve been using this site for around 2 months so thought it`d only be polite to introduce myself properly too.
My name`s Phillip and I live in Manchester in the UK.

I started making music when the first incarnation of the Music series was released back in 1998-99?
I`ve always been on the creative side, I used to paint and write short stories, so when this game was released I just had to have it to see if I could be as creative in a different medium.

I remember the feeling I got after making my first couple of tunes, a real sense of accomplishment. (Suffice to say they were mostly made with the preset riffs and sound guff now, I know this because I still have them on old tapes, always good to listen to for a giggle!)

The more and more I played it the less premade stuff I used and the better my tracks got, back then I was making a lot of big beat style tunes inspired by the likes of Fatboy Slim`s 2nd album and The Chemical Brothers 1st album.

Then Music 2000 came along......wow. I distinctly remember buying it from Game the day it came out because I blew all my wages on a (then) new Sega Dreamcast on the same day!
Funny to think the Dreamcast has long gone but I still have Music 2000, eh?

Getting to grips with 2000 was a lot quicker and easier than it was with the regular Music game, a lot of the features and controls remained the same.
This is when I started to listen to a lot of trance, I was a nipper at the time and had just started to go out on the town where I`d hear this music and so started collecting trance compilations.
This in turn inspired me to make trance songs on Music 2000.

Throughout the next few years I made a lot of trance and chillout and finished my first album (I know album sounds a bit pretentious but I can`t think of another word to describe it!) "Sadness Through The Strobe Lights" which consisted of my personal favourites I`d created throughout the past couple of years.

Once I`d finished this I got the same feeling of accomplishment I`d gotten when I first made a decent song using the original Music and I didn`t make another song for at least 6 months.

During this time I started listening to a lot of indie/rock and also electronic/alternative stuff such as Radiohead (my favourite band), The Prodigy, Aphex Twin, Chemical Bros and Primal Scream etc.
This gave me more inspiration and I found myself returning to good ole Music 2000, churning out around 1 song per month.

At this time I was going through a pretty rough time in my life and without going in to too much detail, it showed in the songs I`d created over the past months.
My 2nd "album" :D "Omnipotent" was very different to the 1st, I dropped almost all of the trance elements from the 1st "album" and opted for much more electronic sounds.
This and the personal problems I was going through, resulted in a much more experimental and much, much darker sound.

When I`d finished this "album" I sort of......drifted away from Music 2000 for a few years, I made the odd track here and there (when I say odd track, I mean 1 a year!) and put together a compliation "album" of tracks from different years which never made it on to my proper "albums".
I dunno, I think I just had the feeling it was all a bit pointless making music if the only people who were gonna listen were members of your family (which isn`t really a good idea, try asking your mum to listen to a track, I can almost guarantee it won`t be the most informative of feedback) or certain friends.

Then I stumbled across this site and the whole thing, listening to other peoples music, having my music heard, chatting to people about a common interest, inspired me to fire up the old PS and start creating again!
I know I`m not the only one who thought they were the only one to still be using Music 2000/MTVMG2!
I just find it incredible that not only is there a whole site dedicated to the Music programs, there are tons of other really cool producers here too!

I`m gonna go now cos my fingers are hurting and I`m hungry, but before I do I`d just like to thank DJ Omnimaga for creating such a brilliant site and also the many great producers using this site for restoring my faith in an old Playstation game.

Cheers.

Is there a way to delete previously uploaded topics? Most of my posts are links to tunes I unwittingly uploaded in low quality format and so deleted from Savefile rendering the posts useless. I know I`ve posted an overly complicated topic containing all my tunes in stereo, but it would be nice to clear all the other useless topics so I can repost my stereo tracks one by one. Otherwise I`ll have 2 posts per track. Cheers!
