Not really my kind of music but this is nicely done. It is hard to tell it came out from a music generator program. Nice job :)

Also you have 171 songs? O.O

Thanks! We try very hard to make our music not sound like it came from the programs in these series. Almost never use a premade riff, and when we do, we usually change it up a lot.

Actually, we have 171 songs on our website . In truth, there are probably close to 500 songs recorded since I got MG2 as a wedding gift...back in May 2001. I have a suitcase full of cassettes.

Here's a song I'm still working on. What's different about this is that I used Digital Hitz Factory (aka Music 3000), whereas everything else pretty much has been with MG2.

My wife & I did this track.

Started off as a cover of the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations", but right after I the bassline, my wife got an idea to do a completely different track around that.

Another truly unique piece of music, I think you`ve captured the spirit of both Venice, with the Italian sounding instrument (don`t know what they`re called!) and also the slow, almost shambling sound of an undead creature.

Now I`ve got the bizarre image of a zombie rowing down the canals of Venice in his/her gondola...and that`s a very original picture to paint in somebody`s mind! Brilliant!

That's exactly what we were going for! I can't remember exactly what sound we used ( I think it might    have been a koto), but I remembr using a loop point in the sample editor. That's how we got the mandolin sound. Also  I highlighted the main riff and used the pitch shifter, created 4 dots (can't remember what the term is right now), set it at 1/4 of a key  and 1/8 seconds and toggled the looping, and made the wave form into the letter M. I think I may end up using a digital camera to take a picture of some things, as it is next to impossible to describe in text! We always do some creative things just by trying to make shapes, regardless of how it sounds.

I haven't been able to make any good dance ones as of yet, but I have one or two planned for the next TIMGUL mix.

Problems with each is that one'll take forever to piece together (being the unconventional so-and-so that I am, I'm hoping to use a 7/8 or 7/4 time signature; I don't think there's ever been a dance tune that's not been in 4/4, so it'll probably be a world first :P) and the other I have NO idea what the notes are, but I can piece the notes using a MIDI files as reference. (unfortunately, the song is just, well... . I think I might have to double the tempo to 340 and 400 instead of 170 and 200, because I'm certain it uses 1/32 notes)

340? ?400? Dang that's fast... fasted song we ever did as at 164 bpm, and most of ours is around the 110 mark.

If there is a 3rd volume, we'll do a special track this for it. We usually do avant garde, but I can wringle out a good techno track I'd reckon.

Interesting fact... the zombie sound was actually one of the vocal tracks from Funk Flex himself, and I messed around with it in the sample editor and the pitch shifter. I made the mandolin sound by using time stretch and putting a loop point in one the the samples.

Really? That's cheap. Thank you guys *so* much...

Another dumb question.. where can I buy an adaptor?
#654
You can't import any of them.

Thanks guys! The three of us like experimenting using MG2. I did one track where I took advantage of the fact that everything scrolls vertically and made shapes and didn't even bother to listen to what it sounded like until the song was finished (had the tv on mute). i'll post that one later.

We hardly ever use premade riffs, and when we do we always tweak the samples themselves.

Two things that really flip my sh*t...

1) The game was so buggy and sold so poorly, it apparently killed the series. Can you imagine how awesome this would be on the PS3 or Xbox 360? Or if it was on the wii, you could use the controller to actually draw the wave in the sample editor? We'll never know. Just one example of how this game screwed the pooch... the "Voice2Music" feature did not work

2). The "contest" to win a recording contract. I bought DHF when it came out, on that very day, and I sent in my memory card well before the deadline. I not only never heard anything back, but neither did anybody else as the website was never updated.

This is a track that my wife & I did together. Well, she actually did most of it. I just did the panning, the beat, and editing the samples. All of these are custom made riffs, and we made good use of the pitch shifter.

Oh snap.

Do you put this in the mic input on your computer, and the put the a/v cable from the ps2 in those inputs in this adapter? If so, then I feel really stupid right now.

I had been putting them from my PS2 to my stereo onto cassette, and then transferring from tape to PC. Durr.

If the songs I've done are too big, can I post links from my website instead? They're all songs made with MG2..
