I enjoy layering things up and have never kicked the habit of trying to write the most complicated/crazy fills and breaks. Comes from writing music with my brother originally - it always ended up like a competition!

Great bass and drum work - cool track. I'm also always impressed by anyone who can make some of those generally pretty cheesy vocal samples work! 

Slight change of vibe to the more funk orientated for these two. Still coming from my 1999 album 'Silicon Beats'. Let me know if your boat is floated!

Good track - that last section from 2:00 is super-cool 

Very cool tune - especially the breakdown and build-up around 1:20 and those deep-but-fizzy sweeps.

Great track! And finally a use for those bloody 'cockney' MC samples - one thing I've always kinda resented about M2k is you get to the stage when you've used all the decent bass samples, kick drums, snares, hi-hats, etc about a dozen times and they thought it was a good idea to fill half the CD with a bunch of people saying or singing a few lines in different ways. Grrrrrrrrrr!

@ Zodiac - Cheers, man, I am quite pride of the bass in this one! I have to make an admission, though. My first album was mastered by a mate of mine as I had no access to a PC back in '99. At the time I was a little disappointed because a few of the more subtle percussion parts had become a bit more prominent in the mix on some tracks than originally intended. Now I'm doing the mastering myself I realise what a great job he did and my self-taught crash-course in sound engineering means I now understand some of the complexities and effects of using compression, etc.

@Rikki - Thanks, dude, why have 3 or 4 percussion lines when you can have 7 or 8, I always say! The evolution reflects the writing style I developed with my brother in the early days using Tracker programmes - we'd alter one or two different channels on each block so's we didn't get bored. I approached the album with the idea that the tracks should be 12" vinyl  length but trying not to bore the arse off the listener since paradoxically they were unlikely to get mixed! My latter efforts are generally shorter, but in a way I do miss the kind of variation-on-a-theme evolution I used to use.

Excellent production - really pro sound. Reminds me of Metalheadz stuff as well, plus variety of other labels I was listening to back in '97/'98. (Still got some of that vinyl somewhere...)

Good grief - you write so many brilliant tracks you forget about them!?! When I went trawling through memory cards all I found were half-finished failed experiments... most of which reminded me exactly why they got abandoned!

Like it a lot - I don't usually go for slow/ambient stuff, but this has real emotive power.
