Rap/Hip Hop / Youtube-Link "The way I am"
September 14, 2008, 11:13:12 AM
Heyo,

I had put this on youtube some time ago and now I want to know what u think about it :D

The track was created throughout a statement of a former classmate, he was like "oh ps2 programme is shit, u can never create music like we hear in radio with it".
So dante and me tried to convince him from the opposite by trying to create the relatively modern rap track "The way I am" made by a well known artist called eminem. Our goal was to let it sound the similiar as possible to the original without using too many recorded samples. In the end the only recorded sample was the chimes  ;D

I know that the first bassline has the wrong timing and that the chorus is normally backed by the above mentioned chimes, but it was impossible to record or edit the first chimes so that they sound like the ones in the original chorus, that's why we used a sample of the game there.

Created with the MTVMG2, a "making-off" video can be found too^^ I wish happy re-creating  ;)

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Nakama OST forest track
September 13, 2008, 02:17:56 PM
Heyo,

finally i returned from holidays, so again more from me coming the next days as usual  :)

This track was another idea for the RPG game "Nakama", specially made for a big forest.
I say "was" because I retired from the project, as first pieces of the demo looked very similiar to another RPG game (very, very similiar) and the developer even signed another composer besides me, who creates music that sounds very different to MTVMG2. In my believe the style doesn't fit together at all, what ruins the musical scale.
As the other composer is a rl friend of the developer, I couldn't persuade him to change his mind, in a matter of fact I decided to leave composing to the other guy, as his sounds were quite good (sure, cause this guy makes money with it in rl and has a big orchester, too) and I didn't know at all whether I get mentioned in the credits / my tracks get used in the end or not.

Hope u enjoy the track and get reminded to a big, beautiful forest scenery  :)
It was made with the MTVMG2 and a lot of help of a friend called dante (recently joined the forum^^), thx here again for the amazing flute melody that I wouldn't have been able to pull off so smoothly  ::)

Think I used something from the clavi table, but not sure, gotta check it next time...by now I was too lazy to search for the song on the big mem-card cause it takes centurys till the list of songs is loaded ><

Another Rap Beat, this time from my old album "Stück für Stück" (Piece for Piece).

As almost all rap beats this one is a bit monotonical too, but has to be to maintain the rhythm ;)

Created with MTVMG2.

Very nice, I like how soft and warm the song is.
I heard a few others of your tracks and think your work is amazing, every time with something new but remaining an own style. :)

Actually I drifted from making RPG Games with the RPG Maker due to its bright spectrum of possibilities. I ended making a horror game based on the "Project Zero" Games but I'm only good in scripting events or making a fight-system....I really suck in making (battle) animations so I'm glad that I only have to do the music for the RPG Game Nakama  :D

Yea I will post the game link but it will take some time for the game to be finished...but to shorten the waiting time I will post some of the songs for the game from time to time  :)

MTV Music Generator 2 / Re: mtvmg2 poll!
July 22, 2008, 09:38:01 PM
Well I gave it a 9 but pending between 8 and 9 by now  :D Because I thought of one glitch that nearly made me scream...I absolutely hate - you can't imgine how hard I hate - that riffs (no matter in which section) aren't played if you have too much of them in one area, like Ryce said with the percussion. I often have the problem with the melody riffs....nothing is as worse as not hearing the music you made  >:(

But I even see one glitch on pro side   :D Marking the start of a (long) sample pretty much at the end and overwriting this sample with a shorter one leads the sample to glitch very often and sometimes it sounds veeeerry interesting when glitched xD First time this happened to me in Music2000 and the sample made the melody sound so much nicer that I kept it that way. Bad thing on the other hand is, that (I think in MTVMG2) if you save a song with glitched samples and load it later (especially if you load it another day, so ps2 was switched out in meantime) the sample probably sounds different Oo

Another thing: Anyone of you ever came across the so called "ZOMBIE" riffs? Lol I thought that must be a bad joke when I first encountered it...happens every time I combine one song with another what I need to do in order to save memory space cause 2 songs take more space then the combination of two  ;) but seems as MTVMG2 doesn't like it....that must be the reason why some riff names change into "ZOMBIE" and get a black color...or you have any ideas about that or how to avoid because I even had the case that the "ZOMBIES" weren't filled with notes any more...just empty riffs...  ???

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Nakama Song
July 22, 2008, 06:52:34 PM
Heyo,
early this year I made a song for a small rpg game (I don't know if somebody knows the "RPG Maker"). The game called "Nakama" isn't released yet and I didn't have much time but this is one of the songs I made for it. I didn't know in which section to put it, but think it fits in here^^

I have Music2000 for ps1 and for pc but as I like MusicGenerator2 much more I don't use Music2000 any more...I would use it on pc but as I said it ain't working, everytime I try to load/open the riff library I get back to windows and game shuts down...

Great u like it  :)

Well I indeed wrote lyrics for it, but didn't have time to record it at the moment.
Anyway if you wanna hear some of my beats with lyrics (german rap) then visit my myspace site:[

www.myspace.com/alphabetrap

I know the quality isn't the best but I'm trying to give all I can as an amateur  :D

This is like heaven^^ I connected and record my songs since years in exactly this way...it took quite some time till i got the clue how to connect all things etc...and yea use audacity, it's freeware and a very good tool, even the record quality can be adjusted to quite a nice level  :)

Sry that I didn't explain something, I just had to tell that I record the exactly same way xD
