Hi,
Is it legal to sell songs created using the game? I queried Codemasters and they said for me to look
under the "royalty free license" section of the manual. but I've got no manual because my game was stolen last November along with other stuff and the used one i bought off Ebay doesn't come with one! can anyone tell me what it says? I haven't played since i was a teen and now I'm getting back into it.
Thanks,
Veronica
the royalty free licence on music 2000/mtv music generator states that you are free to sell and distribute music created with the product as long as you include the mtv music generator logo on the packaging
Post up some of your work soon!

I will. I just wanna get my vocals mixed professionally as I recorded with my Boss br 600. You can however hear a rough version at http://www.myspace.com/veronicavoden
the song made using MTV Generator is called "Lipstick" lol.
Let me also add that if you aren't using pre-made riffs, legally there really isn't any issue even if the logo is not included, since at that point it would be no different than using, say, a DX7..
One thing I've always wondered...if you do use the logo, how many people who don't know any better would think it meant your music was endorsed by MTV! ;D
Use the Music 2000 logo instead of the MTV Music Generator 1 logo? They are technically the same software. :P
LOL...yeah...I'd use the MTV one, because that may help sales!
