Well at some point there are big chances that one mix will only be DnB and hardcore. But Mix 4 will have trance, hardcore and dnb like the two first mixes. The reason why I did a trance mix was the very high amount of trance/euro tracks that got uploaded since March and most of the lastest ones weren't even reaching 135 BPM.
I'm surprised you didn't add Nine Hundred And Ninety Nine then. :P (though I've lost the Memory Card file to it now, D:)

Well, my style of music that I make in M2K has a very Progressive rock/metal influence, with regards to weird time signatures (One track alternates between 7/8 and 9/8 in one section and uses 7/8 as a segue), instrumental sections (A proposed track is an instrumental itself) and of course, wtf-lengthed tracks (Whilst there's not many as of yet, I have many epics in my head)

MUSIC series discussion / Re: Timgul: The Album?

Well, using an external site as a reference, the song mainly goes at 200BPM, and there's a section that goes at 170BPM (4:18 - 5:04), which it goes back to 200BPM. But although I don't have the MIDI file as a reference, I'm uncertain whether it uses 1/32 notes (32 notes per bar), but I can one of my friends who made a remix of it (in FL Studio) using a MIDI of the song.

(Of course ,seeing as Music 2000 doesn't do MIDIs, especially the PSX version, putting all the notes in one by one is gonna be fun :D)

Could we have a possible tracklist?

I haven't been able to make any good dance ones as of yet, but I have one or two planned for the next TIMGUL mix.

Problems with each is that one'll take forever to piece together (being the unconventional so-and-so that I am, I'm hoping to use a 7/8 or 7/4 time signature; I don't think there's ever been a dance tune that's not been in 4/4, so it'll probably be a world first :P) and the other I have NO idea what the notes are, but I can piece the notes using a MIDI files as reference. (unfortunately, the song is just, well... . I think I might have to double the tempo to 340 and 400 instead of 170 and 200, because I'm certain it uses 1/32 notes)

I'm actually planning on burning and shipping my music myself; I'm not planning on getting signed either, mostly because I think the quality of my songs aren't "signable" yet.

Although I still use MTVMG/M2K, I am looking for similar music softwares, as I have to use M2K on my PSX emulator, and because my PC isn't particularly "high-spec", I get a lot of skipping; upping the program's priority just makes it worse D:

Hey, CoLD! I thought I recognised that name from somewhere*! (unless you've nicked it from the original guy, which I hope you haven't ;P)

(*as in, I've recognised the name across the internets after scurrying around for, um... various stuffs)

I'm having a bug in one of mine (which sucks because it's meant to be the first track):

I'm trying to make a riff sound stereo, so I duplicated the sample and changed the offset (well, I actually added a loop effect and cut-pasted the first 12 bytes to the end becaues it was a looping sample, and for some reason, changing the offset as normal would cease it to loop). And as normal, moved the original to the left speaker and the editted one to the right speaker. For some reason, I now get a simple looping tone on the right speaker after 1 beat (I've set the BPM at that section at 040, as it's an intro) but I open it in the riff editor and it plays as normal.

I think my best bet is to make the looping intro as its own song, and record that and merge it with the rest of the song (which'll be in its own file also) in Audacity. :-\

As I'm only able to produce stereo sound on my emulator (unless I have two songs, one for the left speaker and one for the right, but that would be too complicated), I've noticed hardly any crashes as I did in the PSX version (or course, Sod's Law is going to play its turn any day soon having said that). I've thought about using savestates as it would allow me to have an "extra" set of songs without using a virtual memory card, though...

My pet hate in music production is lacking ideas/inspriation.

What I very much like about this track -- apart from the fact that it's over 9,000 minutes long, and I like my unconventionally lengthed songs -- is the fact that it transitions from (what I class as) rave to trance so slowly, you don't even notice; it's very rare that you find tracks that can do this.

Saw it yesterday on YouTube.

It is without a doubt, awesome.

..I have the mp3 of it (minus the Mario SFX) if anyone wants.

I'll provide chords/notation for some of mine if you want:

PENTANOL 1.250:
(All notes are quarter notes; the entire song is in 5/4 time signature)

Verse:
Bb Bb C C C | Bb Bb F F E | Bb Bb C C C | Bb Bb E F G|

Chorus:
Bb Bb F Bb G | Bb Bb G F C | Bb Bb F Bb G | Bb Bb G F C |

32-bit Twist (Demo 1) (Chords):
VERSE:
C         Caug   F
Something wasn't right
Caug    C         Caug       F       Caug C
I barely slept all through the night
    Caug     F       Caug
And when the morning came
      C     Caug    F      Caug
I was lying outside in the rain
C         Caug    F
The spiky nail of darkness
Fm       C        Ab      Eb    F7
Burrowed straight into my heart
C          Caug  F
I tried to use a crowbar
Fm    C    Ab       Eb    F7
But I only pulled myself apart
Ab
I'm easily amused enough
   Eb
To make it through the day
    Ddim
I'm random and confused enough
   Ab          Bb
To be in total disarray
Ab
Tell me that I'm all alone
   Eb
In thinking that I'm all alone
    Ddim
I'm so completely on my own
     Ab            Bb  C
That everything's OK

CHORUS:
  Caug     F     Fm
I might be on to something
C    AbEb  Bb  C
(Schizophrenic twist)
  Caug       F     Fm
I might just be on something
C    AbEb  Bb  C
(Schizophrenic twist)
    Caug        F       Fm
But something's telling me
C         Ab        Eb      Bb
And don't believe a word of this
    C     Caug        F
But music sounds much better
Fm     Ab            Ab7
With a schizophrenic twist
(OR:
Fm        Ab7
With a guitar.)

I'll find the notation for the "crappy guitar solo" some other time, but I'm certain it's just the same chords as the chorus; so it's the chord notes.

Any other ones of mine you wish to remix? Also, I'll send you a more uptodate vocal track of 32-bit Twist if you want to include the vocals.

Other MUSIC/MTV Music softwares / Re: MTV MG PC

I think I read on a YouTube video of it (I think it was yours, actually. :P) that it's a little unstable when it comes to creating your own riffs...

Pretty decent for a hip-hop song (seeing as I despise about 98% of rap songs in the charts).

Is it better than MTVMG/M2K PlayStation? What files can it export to (ie. mp3/wav/etc)

I prefer the melody to bassline; I usually have the bassline being quiet in comparison to the main melody.

But, seeing as all my songs are instrumental tracks which require vocals, I usualy have the main melody simple where vocals are meant to be played and more complex in fill sections.

SHINY :D

Is this directly from the PlayStation itself and not an emulator?

What are you recording it with?

QuoteHow about doing a Sonic theme remix? THE best game series of all time!
Curse my fandom... :P

(actually, I made a Sonic remix onto my Memory Card a couple years ago but it's indeniably horrible; trust me.)

"Searching on the Darkness"
WAITING FOR THE LIGHT
THE SMELL OF PURE ADRENALIN
BURNING IN THE NI-*shot* (points for reference)

Again, another awesome addition to your collection.

(and again, where did you get that guitar noise?)
