Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Re: Nevermore (single)

I've noticed that it only takes many of you 3 to 6 hours to make a song.  I wish I could do that sometimes.  My songs take at least 8 hours (at least on the MTVMG1).  I worked on one song for over 13 hours once, staying up all night and intensely tweaking as much as I could.  In the end, it turned out to be one of my best, incorperating three bass lines that were transposed into piano at the end.

I've spent a million hours on some of my songs. Take "Battle for the gate" for example, I've lost count on how many hours I've worked on that one. There's nothing wrong with spending many hours on a song. You know, it all depends on what kind of music you create, no?

Oh my god, I love the intro!
I'm a big fan of the survival-horror series Silent Hill and Akira Yamaoka's sound design and music for those games.
Are you familiar with him or the games? Anyway, this reminds me of Silent Hill. And I love this sound! It would be perfect in a horror game.

I love the industrial turn around 3 minutes into the song.
Very very good.
I love the experimental and dark nature of this song.

And at 6 minutes it turns really gothic, very nice.
Very nice ending as well.

Fantastic job on this one!

JulianNachash: Thank you for the comments:) I would love to make videogame music, especially for retro RPG's, that would be a dream come true!

audioghost: thank you very much! well, I'm a fan of you too. your electronic music is really fantastic. You make strong, catchy melodies and I'm a big fan of your music-style.

Bass Launch: Yeah, I think I've payed more attention to this version, and I prefer this one over the other. Thank you for your comments!

BassLaunch: Haha, I love your visualisations of my tracks! I really appreciate those comments, because game music is an extension of the visual impression of the game.

DJ Omnimaga: Thank you! :D What I was thinking with this song was that the main characters have met a lot of resistance, but now they're getting back on their feet and ready to continue the fight for freedom! Or something... But I agree with you, this could make a nice airship theme as well! Never thought of that.

A different approach to game music than I normally do. This is more about atmosphere than melody. Made with Music 3000.

I love the atmosphere you create in your songs. I also like the mood you're creating in the intro and the subtle effects.

the transition around 3:17 is awesome. I love the fact that the melody becomes more prominent around that point.

The title says it all. As you probably know, I'm a big fan of videogame music, and this reminds me of a mix between Castlevania and Final Fantasy Tactics. Great mood and I love the eerie melody.

This is fantastic. Really moody and dark, almost a sence of insanity as well. And I love the marching snares!

Wow, thank you Julian! I really appreciate the comment about the snares, because in tracks like this that's something I usually put a lot of effort into.

Motoi Sakuraba is such a fantastic composer, and all of his songs are really rich and deep in the production. The Star Ocean 2 and Valkyrie Profile soundtracks are probably my favorites by him.

I only played through this game once though, and I never tried the Iselia Queen sidequest, I've only seen videos of it on youtube.

Glad you like this remix btw :)

Thank you! That's exactly the feeling I was going for :)

Also, I could share some tricks to how I make the "deep" sound if you like, I just need some time to do it. It's not a sound that proffesionals like though, that's why I'm usually putting myself down when posting music with that sound. But, I love that sound, and you have inspired me to continue making music like that! :)

To be honest, I'm not too happy with this one. I really want to redo it, so I'm uploading a "before" and hopefully I can soon post an "after" version.

This really reminds me of Motoi Sakuraba (one of my top 5 videogame composers). You've done a fantastic job on this one! Reminds me of Tales of Destiny. Great melody and intensity. By the way, what sample did you use for the main melody? I would love if you made more music like this (in addition to your dance music of course, because those tracks are amazing as well)! I'm so happy I found this forum, finally I can talk, post and comment on music that I love but nobody else I know understands and that is made with my favorite software/game ever!
#159
Your dance tunes are fantastic. I wouldn't even begin to compare this to Basshunter because he is the biggest douche in the world and produces some of the biggest crap the world has ever witnessed.
Anyway, the melody is great, very catchy, and I also love the high energy. I have never managed to create a descent dance track, but listening to your stuff inspires me to try again.

Another RPG inspired track... Probably from 2002, not sure.
