Video Game/Film Soundtracks / Black Curse
October 01, 2009, 05:05:10 PM
Here's a song I made a couple of years ago.

It's a mix between one of my own compositions and a song called Black Forest from the first Suikoden game. It starts out with melodies from my track, then the melody that kicks in at 1:32 is from Suikoden, then there's a variation of the theme that I created, and then it goes back to the Suikoden theme again and then back to my original stuff.

I've been wanting to work more on this one, and eventually turn in into a song without borrowed elements, but... yeah, I haven't done it yet, lol.

Anyway, I hope you like it.

Aaaaaaaaaah I love it!!! Sooooooooooo floaty and drifty. Can just see myself playing some kind of mystic/adventure/quest/fantasy game set in old villages, going around collecting magic potions and stuff.

The flute is great. The instrument that comes in at 0:14 is great (I forget it's name) - moody... intriguing, mystifying... inviting you in to wonder what this quest is all about.

Could suit Age Of Wonders come to think of it.

Thank you! I'm glad you get those connotations when you listen to this, because they fit perfectly with my intentions! :D
BTW: The instrument that comes in at 0:14 is clarinet :)

is it just me, or is the mp3 corrupted?

Fuck yeah! I agree with the sentiment about too much swagger not enough skill, I'm not sure if you're a fan of Fort Minor but they're like good old style rap. They tell stories and put fake rappers in their place by talking about issues and creating some kick-ass rhymes.

I love "There they go". It's on the Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure soundtrack.

I always loved Lara's theme, and you have made a lovely remix here. I love the harps and pianos.

For some reason the melody that kicks in at 20 seconds makes me think of It's A Sin by the Pet Shop Boys lol! But it's a fantastic track with great composition - as per usual.

NOTE: I like PSB.

Oh gawd... You're absolutely right! I can't believe I never noticed that! >_< Oh well, lol

The main melody is almost like a much faster version of the melody from 'Enclosure' from the Metal Gear Solid score. A fantastic piece as always from Beoulve.

I must stress that this is a remix, and not an original composition (even though I wish it was!), so props should go to Motoi Sakuraba. I only arranged and made a few alterations to Sakuraba's fantastic track from SO: The Second Story.

Wow, this is amazing. The samples used, the melodies and the ambiance goes together perfectly. Really beautiful work.

Yeah, I definitely think it's for a 3D game. It would fit in games from PS and PS2 era.

@BlondeJustice
I'll do that then, and I have a bunch of other stuff not uploaded, but mostly just old junk. I'll see if I upload something later today.

OOOOH! It's Grahf's theme, no?  I love the choice of samples, and you have created some nice beats.
I love Xenogears, and did a cheesy little remix of one of the tracks on the original Music game way back in 1998, maybe I'll upload it.

This defo has a biomechanical feel to it, and also slightly cyberpunkish. I like the organic base and  melodies, though obviously electronic. This would've been perfect in the Ghost in the Shell videogame for Playstation 1.

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Battle Royale
November 21, 2008, 10:02:26 PM
This is the last track I will post in a while. I have exams and shit.

Soo... this is my latest track, actually a new version of an old battle theme to be precise. I think it turned out pretty nice, but I hate the fact I can't produce anything with decent sound, I need to figure out some stuff by listening to your stuff here on the forum. And please, give me constructive criticism and please share any tips you might have. I want to evolve and become better, I feel like I'm stuck and not moving forward.

Holy Crap!!! This is simply amazing. Sounds totally pro.
There was a time when I used to listen to trance and this is better than a lot of the crap I listened to. You are truly a magician with the mtvmg2 software, its cool that guys like you prove just how powerful the tool is.
The melody, the strings, the depth and the effects are mind blowing.

I hate when that happens! My laptop died a couple of months ago, and I'm a poor student at the moment, so I feel you bro. Good there's love left in this world and you got some help.
