Name:
Bjørn Christian M. G.

Age:
26

Location:
Norway

Occupation:
I'm a student.
I already have a bachelor as an arts and crafts teacher.
I completed the first year of my animation bachelor.
And now I'm a full time student of visual communication and graphic design.
I also work part-time in a kindergarden.

Hobbies/Interests:
-Music! I love listening to music and creating music.
I'm currently in the prosess of learning reason and I'm going to give fruityloops a try as well, but of course my favourite tool is Music 2000. I also own the original Music, MTVMG2 and Music 3000. I used to own MTVMG3 as well, but I got rid of it.
Some of my favorite bands are: Radiohead, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Arcade Fire, Goldfrapp, Rilo Kiley and lots more!
I also LOVE videogame music. I don't listen to it as often as I used to, but I still love it, and I love creating music inspired by videogames. My favorite composers are: Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda, Motoi Sakuraba, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Masaharu Iwata, Yoko Shimomura, Noriyaki Iwadare and last but not least Akira Yamaoka.

-Videogames. Although I don't play as much as I used to, I'm still a big fan of videogames.
I especially love RPGs like: Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Xenogears and Star Ocean, Strategy RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics, Legend of Kartia and Disgaea, Action RPGs like Vagrant Story, Kingdom Hearts and Alundra,  Adventure games like Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Broken Sword, Horror games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil and Project Zero/Fatal Frame and Action games like God of War and Devil May Cry.
I'm currently playing Odin Sphere, God of War II and Puzzle Quest. Last completed games are: Final Fantasy IV, Hotel Dusk Room 215, Pheonix Wright Ace Attourney: Justice for All and Grim Grimoire.

-I love art, illustration, design, comics(I never read them though, lol), and animated shows. I would love to work as an illustrator and designer either for web or print.

-Movies: thriller, action, horror, drama, comedy, surreal, animated

-I also enjoy a little poker, I love staying up at night and I never go to bed when I should, hanging out with friends, sitting at a café talking about everything and nothing over a nice cup of white chocolate mocca and filter cigarettes, drinking, smoking(although I may quit, can't afford it, cigarettes are very expensive in Norway), I love a good party, I'm also trying to learn to play the guitar(well, not trying that hard, but I have learned some chords) and I love internet:)

And now my latest addiction is this place!

This is my newest track. The production isn't very clean or anything, but I like the melody and the drums. This is of course another videogame styled track. Like most of my tracks it's kitsch and cheesy in every way! Just the way I like it :P

Very nice remix. I haven't played the game, but I've heard the soundtrack. Nice style you picked for this one and it fits the theme well. Fantastic production as always, sounds very clean.

I should really start using MTVMG2 more. I am noticing a lot of great songs have been produced with it.

I am loving this track and the samples you have used. I am not sure what the "razor" kind of sample is called. I guess it is some kind of sawtooth sample, but anyways, it is really cool and works great in your song. Reminds me of a 8-bit videogame sound.

I personally think this would be cooler if you had a harder hitting kick though, but I guess that's just a personal preference. Other than that this is kick ass!

Except for the messy recording, this is lovely, hehe :) I agree with DJ Omnimaga, this does remind me of gamemusic. Adorable use of samples and melody, and I like the references to "Somewhere over the Rainbow".

MUSIC 2000/MTV Music Generator / Re: music 2000 poll!
November 19, 2008, 12:41:06 PM
10/10

The best of the bunch by far. It's a massive and powerful tool for its time and price.

I remember several bands using this software getting signed by record labels. The most successful in Norway was a group called Tøyen. I also recognised the samples and riffs for the soundtrack in a porn movie once, lol.

What I really like about this software is the versatility. I have created everything from metal to eurodance, and for the past 8 years or so my main focus has been on making music inspired by videogames. Sure, it is not pro quality samples, but still it gets the creative juices flowing!

MUSIC / Re: music poll!
November 19, 2008, 12:29:18 PM
9/10

I got this way back in 1998 and fell in love with it right from the start. Easy and fun to use. I also bought Music2000/MTVMG as soon as it was released in 1999, but I actually preferred the original Music for several months because I was used to the controls and userface. However, it didn't take long before Music 2000 became my favorite, but Music is still great. It gets a 9/10 because its the one that started it all and it was fun, easy and a powerful tool for its price and time.

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Fatal Error
November 18, 2008, 06:16:38 PM
For the first time in a million years I have actually made a NEW song. Made this a couple of weeks ago. Took me about 4 hours.
This is supposed to be an RPG track, but it could possibly work in a Mega Man-esque action/platform game as well.(?)

Thank you for the comments. What I don't like with the piano is that the melody is really basic, repetetive and not fully developed. I might start over and try to recreate a better version of this track one day, or not...

Thank you Julian! I'm quite pleased with the percussion in "The Dark Lord". I was really inspired by Hitoshi Sakimoto and the Vagrant Story soundtrack when I made that one.
