Cheers Irndemon. Yeah i did loads of dnb a few years back, more jungle style with amen breaks, but cant find the mem cards!
I survived on smoke and caffine while making this one! Got a few ideas for some more + an addition to your 'metal skeleton' series. :)

My first brand new track of 2009.
Drum and Bass nu skool with swing/triplet sections (something hard to do in 'music2000' as there is no shuffle/syncapation button!),think 'Subfocus' / 'Andy C'
Created on MUSIC 2000 PS1.
Hope you like.

I said on YT that it sound like an intro that would suit a 'tech-noir' type movie. Like the matrix or somthing.
Really nice sound. Good work mate.

MUSIC 2000/MTV Music Generator / Re: MTV MG for PC
January 09, 2009, 07:35:41 PM
I bought mine a year back from amazon (second hand) Cost me £1.99 :) However iv only ever made 2 tracks with it cos it crashes all the time.If u got older pc say win 95/98 its ok but my xp system randomly freezes up. The only thing i love about the pc version is the sampling. I imported a whole pre sliced acappella lasting about 3 min into it. Took me about 3 weeks to complete though :( Paste riff-SAVE, create riff-SAVE, edit riff-SAVE lol!

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Music Box Nightmare
January 04, 2009, 02:11:30 PM
A haunting track that tells the story of a childs bad dream.
It goes techno in the middle(think dave angel/dj rolando)

Created with Music2000 under my other name 'Weapons Division'.
Skewed filter effects at beginning and end put in real time with boss unit.

mp3 quality not great(128) Encoder added some clicks and pops so youtube best for sound.

Get a 'y' piece cable or y adapter (headphone jack - white red male phono) you can get one in tescos. Read page 3/4 of this thread:- http://www.mtv-music-generator.com/index.php?topic=276.40

Plug one end from the headphone out of the xbox. The other into the interface.
You can also record mono if you get a double ended headphone jacked cable and go into the mic input of ur laptop.

Confirmed... Audicity can recognise any input or soundcard (which is what a usb interface is). Go to 'Edit' - 'prefrences'  - 'audio in.out' - 'device' . Select the device in the 'recording' drop down box and your new usb card should be there.ie.. '****usb interface' or 'easycap' etc..Select it and away you go.

The first one is not good. This will prob only have mono mic input and generaly used for skype etc..
The easy cap is V good and iv heared good things. Its designed for av(video) too.

Check:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Behringer-UCA202-U-Control-USB-Audio-Interface-NEW_W0QQitemZ160307314722QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Consumer_Professional_RL?hash=item160307314722&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1298%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
A bit more pricy but plug and play is simple. It comes with software to capture audio but audicity can recognise it as an input.(il confirm later)

I sometimes use 'Reaper' This is a seriously loaded multi track sequencer rivaling top end software but is free. Once youve got your head around it, its nice to use even if you just record into it. Add some eq and compression, export to .wav and you have your mastered track in minutes.
The problem with the 'mic' input on a pc/laptop is that its designed to be just that. A mono mic input!
Get urself a usb audio interface. A dongle size one is as cheap as chips(ebay has hundreds of them)and depending on the type, can let u record in stereo either through a mini jack or phonos.
#98
I am not familiar with the x-box audio outs. Im sure my mate had his through his hifi with white/red phonos. If thats the case, why not record direct to pc? Much better quality than a hissy old tape!

Great sounding track btw. Not my cup of tea in style, but a+ production. Does the xbox allow using samples from the hard drive? Did you use the accapella from the original track? You got some serious creative power if this is the case.
Nice work.

Yeah, thats the spirit guys.Sometimes only a 'music' sample will do!
@ dj omnimaga.Your hint of a bigger upload limit is a great idea. Youtube links are all well and good but if i hear something i like i want to be able to download it at high quality(190kbps+) I tend to export my mp3s at 320 or 256 although i can apreciate space is a problem.
From the activity iv seen on here recently, its JCW,Darkbliss, irndemon,Grebz bashing out the tunes at the moment. I tend to work for weeks on one tune inbetween other stuff(like many others i guess). My new years resolution is to make more time to listen and comment on more tracks.
Its feedback that can push users to create more stuff and keep using TIMGUL.

No way! Finding this site inspired me not only to upload tracks i made years ago,but to make music again on the playstation.
I use Reason, Ableton, Reaper. Korg synths, vocoders, effects boxes you name it!..........BUT........ sure, you can have all the tech, the quantising, midi, eq's ,effects sends, blah blah blah.... Picking up that ps controller was like reuniting with an old friend.
My experience of using other software(and outboard hardware),learning how they work and perform, has enabled me to make stuff in 'music2000' that im pretty sure jester never thought possible.
Please dont ever 'move on' from the music series. Pick it up now and again, get some ideas down. Take that drum loop you made 5 years ago and mangle the hell out of it in Pro Tools. Drop that cool synth line you did into Logic and put a mad filter sweep over it!
Take a bit of 'music' with you whatever software package you choose for production.
Its with me till the end.

ps... Read the above with some rousing patriotic music in the background for better effect :)
