Yesterday I checked amazon.ca and saw MTV Music Generator 2, 3 and Digital Hitz Factory. I bought MTV Music Generator 2 and I plan to buy Digital Hitz Factory too when I find a cheaper one (its the american version of Music 3000) but I can assure you I will never buy the 3rd MTV Music Generator. I am more  a creative music maker not a DJ.

Here you can read some reviews about Music 2000
http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B0000...howViewpoints=1

Now compare with MTV Music Generator 3
http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B0000...howViewpoints=1

There are many more reviews out there, but most for MTV MG 3 are negative and everyone says to buy the first one instead. If I ever get it it will really be if I want to try remixing or to complete my collection but else it's not worth it if you are a producer. The only reason why there is a MTVMG3 section here is because we cover all Music programs by codemasters/jester but I considered often putting this section in the Other section

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / EVREEBODEE!

this is one of my favourite songs from you, this version is much better than the one on youtube considering Youtube put sound mono when you upload a video. It's a nice use of the vocals from Music :)

News and announcements / TIMGUL advertisement video
November 09, 2007, 08:09:38 AM
Ok I've just came up with a video to advertise this forum to help gathering the Music 2000 community together, as it is the only english forum covering this theme besides Codemasters official forums.

You can watch it here:

The video was made using Windows Movie Maker so you will need either Winamp or Windows Media Player to play it if you decide to download the high quality version. The song after the part where the guy speaks at the beginning until the explosion was made using Music 2000, as well as the video that lasts through that song. I used a modified "Dream Piano" pre-made riff to give it a better Music 2000 feel. No external sound samples were used.

Enjoy and spread the word!

Thanks KalsolarUK for the idea.  :)

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Happy Hardcore

I actually had no title for this one x,x

I think I really screwed up her vocals in this one, now it sounds more like a chimpmunk XD, it isn't that great I just got bored one day and threw this out. I basically added the original song from 1987 on top of the music 2000 song and speeded up the original to sync with the music 2000 one, which kinda failed at the beginning x.x. I would have added the sample to music 2000 but it was far away from even fitting in the psone memory

but listen anyway if you want to have a laugh

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Angel In The Stars

Yeah I kind of inspired myself from him and Hixxy. It's quite similar to Adam Harris - Heaven Above (Hixxy Remix) actually, but i tried to make the melody a bit different. I wanted to see how far I could push Music 2000. ^^

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / A New World To Discover
November 09, 2007, 02:27:34 AM
Unfortunately nope :(, even in Canada where i live (Québec actually) it's not very popular. THere is some artists, but they are more known on UK forums. Nowadays people prefer UK hardcore to Happy hardcore tho, since UK hardcore is closer to trance and more harder most of the time

Thanks for the comments btw :)

MUSIC / A game? Surely not?

Aah I see, thanks for the info. It's cool they made Music songs compatible with 2000. I guess I don't really need it then

MTV Music Generator 2 / A Backwards step?
November 09, 2007, 12:40:10 AM
When I bought MTV Music Generator it was $14.99 or $19.99 IIRC. But over here old games prices increase drastically as they get more rare. For example, Final Fantasy III cartridge for the SNES may cost $60 while you can get the same game bundled with FInal Fantasy V on the PSOne for $24.95 or for GBA at $34.95

This is crazy how we get ripped when buying rare stuff sometimes

MUSIC / A game? Surely not?
November 09, 2007, 12:33:05 AM
Sometimes I tend to call Music series games but it isn't really intentional sometimes it just go out like this, but i mostly refer to the playstation disc, but I prefer to say it's a software because it's a creation tool, no win or dies. And even if you own a PC I think it's still a good tool to start making music and some ppl stick to it even if there is other softwares around because it's so easy to use

Btw what's the major differences between music and music 2000? Cuz I listened to lot of KalsolarUK tracks on youtube and regardless of if it said it was made using music or music 2000 it seemed to be the same video and sound samples. All I know is that it has a different user interface. Was there less sound channels/effects?

MTV Music Generator 2 / A Backwards step?
November 08, 2007, 03:08:04 PM
Well I don't trust ebay much, cuz i heard about lot of people not getting the stock at all even after paying for it.

Btw I just found MTV MUsic Generator 1 for $69.95 on Amazon.ca O_O and I saw a copy of MTV Music Generator 2 for $119.95

has the games became that much rare to make prices raise so high here?

Anyway I'm gonna look for digital hitz factory, it is the american version of Music 3000
