Messages - Sacred Virgo

#121
after 6 years i've finally made up my mind:

casper suggested "heavenly boom"
tertiary suggested "spread your wings"

and the winner is...*drum roll in the background*

*class crash sample*

"Heavenly.....Wings"   ;D

thank you all for your precious suggestions, much appreciated.

another collaboration between timgul members... i can't wait to hear the final result  :)
#125
exactly nan.

btw i wrote down that list because it might be useful for members who still have no idea about how many songs we have here on timgul. i dowloaded almost every song from every single member included in the list so it might represent a rough summary of timgul's database itself (except for songs which were previously removed)

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / la sacra fonte (WIP)
October 03, 2009, 10:44:30 AM
album: harpigy project

year: 2007 onwards i guess, can't remember

a short, incomplete WIP (the ending is abrupt) from my JRPG-style music collection. the title means 'the sacred spring', because to me this song would fit a scenery of a water spring placed in the depths of a quiet place, like a forest.

:) Oh sure there is. It was close on this track. If you have too many notes playing simultaneously on the left/center/right sections of the audio spectrum field then you can run into disastrous problems such as note interference, notes that are mute or ill defined, and the overall sound can become jumbled. That's real drawback if you create something so complex is that you have to spend an ungodly amount of time to that type of detail, and to be honest when a song takes 3 days to complete it almost becomes "work" and not just sitting down creating a song enjoying it or having fun doing so  :D but that's my own damn fault.  ;D When I listen to Galactic X-Ploration which was very complex I hear a much cleaner better defined sound as compared to this track.... I strive for that type of sound.

i agree with everything. in order to avoid the problems caused by an excessive amount of layers playing simultaneously why don't you just record them separately and then merge them later? it usually works.
i agree with rikki's suggestion, i remember i suggested you something similar (exchanging the zap with a regular kickdrum) when you released Galactic X-ploration and Time Capsule. why don't you try that on those songs too? just an idea  :) personally i love clean and dry sounding kicks like 'slappy', 'slappier', etc..

and last but not least this song sounds great like all your latest songs, there are so many things going on, a nice structure, skillful arrangement etc... i'd love a reverb a bit more spacey here but maybe it's just me (i'm obsessed with reverb just as much as you are obsessed with low frequencies sounds  ;D)

great work, you are almost close to perfection in using the MG software

beautiful as usual. is it inspired by freya's theme from FFIX?

very nice thread. i have so many songs in mind, but this evening i really have to say..

beoulve - mako reactor (the orchestral remix)

..beyond excellence.

what can i say? this is splendid, magnificent. complete it and then submit it on ocremix as soon as you can! this is stunning, brilliant, exceptional. divine production and arrangement of a nice tune by his majesty nobuo uematsu. fantastic orchestral rendition.

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / La Fuga
September 30, 2009, 09:14:02 PM
album: a matter of drum and bass

track number: 7

year: 2002-2003 (remake in progress)

this is an updated (but still incomplete) version of a song included in my 7th record, which is is currently under a remaking process (like all my older albums). so this is a WIP, which needs more SFX to be complete. i shall upload the final version as soon as it's ready (that usually means ages to me).

btw in italian 'la fuga' means 'the escape'...i hope you can figure out yourselves why i chose this title. and of course i hope you enjoy.

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Re: Nakama OST forest track
September 30, 2009, 06:18:08 PM
i listened to this song quite some time ago and i agree with everyone here, it is just beautiful. the melody is great. some minor production flaws here and there but as an overall this is really a great song. maybe i could try to remake it myself one day, this song really shows some real talent.

there's something i like about all these 3 suggestions...
casper's: i like the choice of those two words together...'boom' is connected to an explosion and that noise at the end of each drum loop reminds me of that in some way. while 'heavenly' recalls something ethereal like those vocal samples or those dreamy pads.
tertiary's: soomething noble? thanks! i like that idea of spreading wings, maybe it might be connected to that flatt bass panning progresively from the center to the sides of the headphones....(oh i know this is a weird idea  ;))
blonde's: very interesting title for a fan of saint seiya like me but i maybe could use this very good idea for another song of mine..

it's okay for me. no rules, yeah it might be the best solution not to force people to leave comments. i liked that 'genuine comments' point very much.. hats off!

Lost songs (MUSIC/MTVMG) / Heavenly Wings
September 29, 2009, 09:00:41 PM
album: a matter of drum and bass

year: 2002-2003

track number: 13

the topic title says it all! after 6 years i couldn't come up with anything. oh well in fact it is not that important as this song is certainly not that special. in any case if you can come up with a title please feel free to suggest it. it would be much appreciated.
