Yeh I think it sounds like same chords...bugger...nevermind , wasnt intentional.

I'm glad you like my track though man.

Dude, that's not a bad thing. No buggering necessary. The similar (not identical) chord progression made me think of the game because the Linkin Park song was used heavily in the advertising of the game. It made me think of a heavily remixed reprise. I really do like it a lot.

Dude! Zodiac, that was such a great idea!  I tried it too and it was massively badass! Syncs right up! Awesome!

Is it only me or do I hear a familiar chord progression in this? Not that that's at all a bad thing.

I love it!

Albums / Re: TIMGUL HALLOWEEN MIX
October 28, 2010, 10:54:19 AM
Dammit so much! I forgot about the week-before-Halloween release date. I do have some ideas for a song, but I'm not sure I'll have time to get it finished before Saturday. Been a crazy couple of weeks between interviews and school problems. Ah well, I'll post it whenever I get it finished. Sorry for missing the deadline. :/

Holy crap! I'm gone for a couple weeks, I peek in and I'm featured in a mix! Freakin' sweet! Thank you so much! I'm totally honored!

I'm an old-school Nirvana fan, so I must admit that I clicked expecting to hate this, but I'm genuinely impressed. I wonder what Kurt would think.

I am curious: How did you separate the vocals?

Drum & Bass / Coordman: Relative Theory (Drum & Bass)

And now, for something completely different...

This represents my one and, thus far, ONLY foray into drum and bass territory. The bass is heavy, harsh, and starts immediately. So if you have a subwoofer, watch the volume. I originally produced it for play in my then best friend's car, which sported a 20" sub.

Whoops! Posted this in the wrong place. :D

Sweet! I have ideas or something! Woot!

What's up, fellow American noob!  ;D

This is a great site and I'm sure I haven't even scratched the surface yet having only been here a couple weeks. Get over to the showcase and start listening. There is some amazing talent here.

Welcome!  :)

Hey, Zodiac, I think I owe you an apology. When I first read this, being a forum noob, I assumed you were announcing a community project, like people were invited to submit their own work to it. I now realize that I misunderstood and I apologize for that. I hope I didn't come off as presumptuous.

Sorry, man. I think I have some other posts to go edit. Whoopsie! Still a very cool idea.

Loving your drums! Nice and agressive! It's a strange mixture with the acoustic guitar, but I'm digging it. Awesome strings, too. The mix sounds a lot like a band I like called Born of Osiris. Check them out if you get a chance. http://www.amazon.com/Higher-Place-Born-Osiris/dp/B00290GN4G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1283812198&sr=8-1

This would be a seriously nice contribution to the Halloween EP. *edit* Whoops. Zodiac's Halloween EP is not a community project. My bad. *end edit*

Just a bit of constructive criticism: There is a lot of distortion in your recording. I'm not sure if this was intentional or if you just accidentally recorded at a higher than usual volume. If it wasn't intentional, you'll want to check your levels.

Get well soon, man!

Here is the prog metal project I've been working on. This is easily the heaviest thing I've ever created. I'm really happy with the results.

The careful listener might notice a subtle tribute to Slipknot toward the end. ;)

Techno/Trance / Re: Dimensional (Music 2000)

Fully impressed, man. Very subtle, but agressive. Ever played Bejeweled 2? This song sounds like it was left out of the mix for it. Beautiful.

I love the subtle way you use light fast snare rolls in this piece. I've tried (and failed) to fake an egg shaker sound before and I spent the first two minutes or so of your song wondering how you recreated the sound so convincingly. Very impressive! Excellent work.

Post more, please! :)

Rock/Metal/Pop / Coordman: Windows XP Intro (Rock Version)
September 02, 2010, 12:47:25 AM
This will be fun. ;D

So, I was bored on some slow Saturday a while back. I turned on my PC and got annoyed. It's configured differently now with Windows 7, but back then I had XP all modded out to look nice and slick with a custom theme and rotating backgounds. Everything LOOKED the way I wanted it to. But when I would turn it on, XP would load up with that boring old John Tesh piano bit. BLEH. It needed a change. :D

If anyone out there is still using XP, feel free to steal this if you like. But since I can't upload .wavs here you'll need to convert it back. Audacity wil do the job nicely. ;)

I like it! The opening has a sort of spacey synth sound to it that appeals to me. Sounds like the sort of thing you would have heard in a Sega CD (or Sega Mega CD) game back in it's heyday. Look up a guy named Tommy Talarico. He was a popular game composer back in the day. Instrumentation-wise, it makes me think of something that used to be in a PS1 game called Wild 9. Let me see if I can find it...

Here ya go:

This song also appeared in Earthworm Jim. :)
