Just thought I'd give myself a bit of a proper introduction to you all here.

Firstly, although I don't have an actual background in music I was very enthusiastic about the series of music creation programs when they first appeared.

Consequently, what probably takes some of you more naturally musically minded a few hours or days to complete - probably takes me a week or two, lol. My first few attempts were fairly straight mixes as I got to feel my feet as it were. The more I used the programs, the more experimental I got and the more of my own riffs and music I incorporated and the more I customised and changed any library ones ones. Franky, to make anything half decent that is not just a lego-brick assembly of straight library riffs you have to be imaginative and customise and use your own stuff to get an original soudning tune. I'm so far happy with the results of most of my stuff and there are a few more that got abandoned along the way due to lack of inspiration, lol.

The first music program I ever used was a thing called "Octamed" which was in the days of the old Amiga computers. It was hard to get seriously good quality out of it although I did use if for a few years before the "MUSIC" for PS1 came on the scence.

Octamed - I loved that program ;)   Best program ever (along with Deluxe Paint IV of course, LOL)

Peace.

I was prbly too young to have seen much of the Amiga stuff x.x I seen the Mario Paint music editor though on SNES but it seemed so limited I think songs couldn't even be more than one min long (according to some youtube videos)

Octamed was a great tool - but was limited by the hardware sound capabilites of the computer. It's amazing what stuff some people could squeeze out of it though and the Amiga was a great machine in its day. It had quite a long reign in computer terms.

DJ_Omnimaga

Yeah, it was even better than commodore 64, i saw some games screenshots on Youtube and there was even 3D games

I saw some games screenshots and gameplay on youtube and it was great, I wish I had one of those or maybe even an emulator

A bit off topic butWinUAE is a good Amiga emulator and WHDLoad (which takes the pain out of setting it up)
Here's a link to a site with all the Amiga Music Demos (and of course all the games, lol) :D

WinUAE (the best? Amiga emulator)

Amiga Kickstart ROMs (needed to make the emulator work - torrent, sorry couldn't find a DDL)

WHDLoad (runs the Amiga floppy disks from your harddrive)

Games and Demos (*note that demos are music/animations etc - not demos of games!)

"Ice-cream, Ice-cream" yeah Speedball was a great game along with "Agony" which had some awesome piano music at the beginning too:

In fact, BTTR site has lots (and lots) of Amiga "Chip music" across all genres for free download! They're all small file-sizes too!
